Redmond Dyno Day

I am in talks right now with Dyno Authority in Redmond.

I am asking if I can get a group discount on Dyno pulls.

I will post the cost but, it would be nice to know who would be interested. I am looking for 8-12 cars for the best discount.

I'm interested, but what's the rate??? Dyno and the P5 make for a depressing kinda day...but I'd still like to see some numbers to justify buying the turbo...

The rate would basically be this...

8 hours of blocked out dyno time for the group (includes pro tunes and or just pulls)

$1,000 + tax

So...as it stands now the rate would be

$1,000 + tax / 5 = $200 + tax each

Keep in mind that a protune would take at least 1 hour and dyno runs take 30 minutes. So saying $200 + tax each would need to be evaluated once we got more people and find out what exactly everyone wants to do.

It is pricey with only five people interested.

More people will drive the price down.

If you want to shop around, $1,000 for 8 hours of dyno time is actually a good deal. It is not a good deal when splitting it between 5 people.

5 people dont need 8 hours of dyno time. I'm not crapping on your idea, because its a great idea. I appreciate you trying to meet other owners, but last time I paid for a dyno it was 3 pulls for 60$.

it's a mustang dyno

and I agree that we don't need 8 hours of dyno time but, to get the deal that is what they will block out

Talk about getting ripped off !!!

Hay all, there are meny shops mabe alittle south of redmond that will do it for ALOT Less i do not have the AWD dyno names but last time i checked it was like 85 per car and that was like 3 or 4 runs.

If your not all weel drive like swrilfx said 60 for 3 runs, or if you can get a small group i can give you alot better deal then that..

I mean the standard rate for he shop right next to me is only 100/hr and I will do half days and stuff like that...

I don't think you guys are getting it...I am basically renting the dyno and tuner for the enitire 8 hours. Every time someone is interested on wants to go the prices goes down. I am not going to say it will be $50 unless there is enough people to offset the price to $50.

I am well aware of what dyno runs cost and I am well aware of jet city tuning and their dyno days. I thought I would be nice and throw this out there for the Mazda community because I have hook ups through the suby community.

If you want to say it is a rip off to rent an mustang dyno for 8 hours along with a tuner that if fine but, you should be well aware since your neighbor works at Jet City how much that cost an hour.

This is not just for dyno runs, it for getting a tune as well. BTW thanks for posting jet city tuning stuff in this tread and calling dyno authority a rip off. I will pass this info along to them.

Also, I can't believe your even trying to compare a portable Dyno to Mustang dyno as for as rates go.

what's the diffenence

What's is the difference between the two. Is the process still the same?

How much is it for 3 runs alone. Its not needed to lock the dyno.

I'm perfectly fine with just waiting my turn watching other cars run, I enjoy that experience personally. No need to reserve a set block. The longer I'm there the more I can potentially learn, so who cares how long it takes.

one is more accurate than the other.

A mustang dyno will allow tuning and dyno runs for AWDs as well as FWD and RWD.

It is hard for me to say this is what it is going to cost until we have a confirmed list and hopefully it would be more than 5. Also it would be helpful to find out if people wanted a tune or just a dyno run.

Jason

I don't think that many will be signing up for tuning...Not really a lot of people running full stand-alones or even piggyback tuners...If we could get 10-12 people for a dyno day...then it would work out...I would spot some change for a dyno day, but I would think we would need about 10-12 people to make it happen...

I wonder if anyone would be interested in doing dynos...then adding mods..and dyno again...would work for all cat-back, intake, header type stuff...the easy to install crap..

I'm in if we can drum up enough people...
