If you want to say it is a rip off to rent an mustang dyno for 8 hours along with a tuner that if fine but, you should be well aware since your neighbor works at Jet City how much that cost an hour.

This is not just for dyno runs, it for getting a tune as well. BTW thanks for posting jet city tuning stuff in this tread and calling dyno authority a rip off. I will pass this info along to them.

Also, I can't believe your even trying to compare a portable Dyno to Mustang dyno as for as rates go.

Alright,

1. you did not mention the shop name untill now so it would be pretty hard to insult dyno athority..
2. if you want to run to dyno athority and whine go for it.. i did not do anything wrong.
3. the words "rip off" were never said, you came up with that crap.
4. i am well aware of the rates, and know that dyno time WITH tuner can be had for less then you said. so what i am bad for pointing that out...
5. i relize that ruffly 80% of the members here do not have anything to "tune", IE pigglybacks, accessports, Standalones, Ect. So all there really looking for is a dyno run to let them know where there at, where there starting, ect.
6. Just because a dyno is portable does not mean that the rates are different.
7. being portable is NOT bad, I can get a dyno almost anywhere.

the major differance in this case is AWD vs fwd/rwd only


as for accurancy that is a matter of debate considering that there are not any "set" calabrations for ALL dynos, insted most of the time the machine is set up and in most cases never recalabrated unless moved or damaged, ect.

so honestly the only way to be "accurate" is to stick to the same dyno.


the other item rarly talked about is dyno resalution, just like your screen on your computer the higher it is the better you see. i have seen dynos with anywhere for 1 to 90 "triggers or referance points" per revelution of the dyno roller.
