Red Pro5 Semi-Build

I think because im running a wide tire. They're 225/45/17's. haven't noticed them rubbing since I got the fenders rolled tho.

ahh yeah idk if ill have as much of a problem at first since ill have 205s, but when the spacers come into play im sure ill have to look into rolling the fenders to avoid rubbing.

can i rent a roller or would i have to go to a shop to have it done? i have a heat gun, but no roller(and pretty much any tool you can think of).

well its been awhile since ive been able to get anything done. work and school have been kickin my ass. still haven had a chance to paint my wheels, but after looking them over after the insides were done im not too happy with how they turned out. the gold on the inside looks like s***. the green is still visiable after two cans of paint. im either going to go with black on the inside or go back over it with two more cans. then hit the fronts with the grimmspeed.

anyone know where to get more grimmspeed paint other than from

im not trying to wait for them to ship it in 2-3 weeks.

still looking into tires, trying to keep road noise down as much as possible, while still being in my price range, (120 a tire).

will update as soon as i get anything done.

Thanks for lookin!

alright great news for me, my prof told me today that she was selling four 215/45/17 for 50$ if i was interested i could have them. i met her right after class and picked them up. about 80% tread left. so i lucked out on the tire situation. not the idea rubber i wanted be for $50 i couldnt say no. i am going to try to get most of the painting done tonight after work. will post pics.
Cheers!

had some plasti-dip left over, just to see what a matte black would look like.

yeah it was a steal i couldnt pass. plasti dip did look good, but im in love with that gold
Looks good! Nice steal on the rubber too.
yeah i was excited when she told me how much she wanted for them. good deal for me.

alright alright alright!! finally have the wheels done. it took a little longer than i was hoping for, but with work and school i had zero time, so thanks to my dad, they are finally done.
a few more things since the last update have come my way. a sick deal on some sickspeed horns led to an impulse purchase, and while i was on their site, i went ahead and purchased some lugs. must have had a mix up in shipping(already emailed them), i ordered red lugs and got blue instead :( but im sure they will adjust this for me soon enough. im about to wet sand a the lip of the wheels and also a few select areas. then give them a day or so then clear them. hopefully have them mounted and balanced and on the car before summer break starts...on to the pictures!!
PICS FOR CLICKS!!

EDIT: I emailed SickSpeed today 12:15, thinking that i would hear from them in the next day or so. To my surprise the responded 3 hours later, telling me that they are scheduling a reshipment with the correct lugs. i am beyond impressed with their products and customer service. these are very good people and i would definitely recommend them to anyone!

another question i have. how do you guys keep your sub box from sliding around?? i picked up a new box and havent had a chance to figure something out. i used to have a slim box and had the red crate(in pic) pinned against it to hold it still. but would love to have trunk space and the crate takes it all up, so its being trashed....any and all suggestions welcome!

red lugs came in. awesome.

first coat of clear is on the wheels.

second coat will come this week. then mount and balance.
more to come!!

one way of keeping the box in place is to put it against your back seat and use a bungee cord and hook it on to the hooks for the child seats and around the sub box, which is what my dad did in his old truck. In my car, I use industrial strength velcro... hahaha

Adding to that. If you want more trunk space, mount your amp to your back seat or under your passenger seat. This will allow you to put your sub where your amp currently sits and, therefore, give you more trunk space.

Bunjee cords are extra ghetto lol. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Velcro-Industrial-Strength-Tape-Black-4-x-2/17190461 I used Velcro brand like what I linked in the picture. I'm using 3 3inx2in patches stuck to the bottom of my box and to my carpet and my sub doesn't budge. What is the diameter on those lugs at the widest point? I didn't see specifics on sickspeed's site.
its close to 2.5 inches, i just grabbed a tape measure and wrapped it real quick. and im going to have to agree with LtStiles, the cords would be a major buzz kill and wayyyy to ghetto for my taste.

Can't wait to see them on the car!!
you and i are in the same boat. shouldnt be much longer! another coat of clear and they should be golden.(no pun intended)

Yeah the bungees weren't pretty... hahaha
and I'm using that exact same velcro for my subs (2thumbs) they don't move at all and it looks very clean
yeah bungees are not the route im taking. ill look into the velcro idea, and for how cheap velcro is its worth a shot for sure.

i have all of my audio running on one amp right now, but im adding a second amp to power just the sub. i figured i would just attach one amp to the top of the box and the second on the side of the box to increase hatch space. under the seat isnt a bad idea either, i might have to look into that.

You have to be careful mounting to the box. Many amps discourage it because the vibrations could negatively affect the amp. That being said, I attached my amp to my box because I'm only running 550w max in a sealed box. Was that circumference measure just under 2.5 inches or just over? If it's just under then they will fit on my new rims!

im not sure exactly. i can get an exact measurement tomorrow and let you know. with the vibrations from the sub i didnt take it into consideration, but i had two 12" subs prior to this and had the amp mounted and had no problems.

I doubt it will be an issue. It's just what the manual mentioned with my amp. (yes, I actually read the manual...sortof). If you do mount an amp to the box, mount it to the right side of the box if looking from the back. There is a curved lip behind the rear passenger seat that prevents you from putting your box flush with the wall. That leaves a perfect gap for an amp. Thanks for the measurements!

yeah i noticed a few places to put it, ill be ripping out all existing wiring from the P.O. and starting completely over so everything will be organized and in order.
