Red Pro5 Semi-Build

ouch on the ebay purchase, I think'd send those back...
im not sure what their return policy is, ill have to look into it. im just going to go with the actual OEM celica turns. the DIY thread had the part number in it.
this will be my goal for tomorrow.

just talked to them at "dotcomracing" and they asked for pictures of the items not being the same as how they were advertised. hopefully this will be a smooth transaction.

Yeah... Did you spray the end links with wd40 or pb blaster or anything at all? It worked wonders when my boyfriend and I swapped out my exhaust.

yeah i had pb blaster sit on them for about 15 minutes, but while trying to get it off, the hex stripped. so i decided to just cut it, and i didnt waste much time on the others.

Just got this in the mail the other day. rear bumper pad from Josue6WGN

i think im going to rattle can it matte black, since its almost a gray color and not so much black.
did some test fittments and it looks really nice with the painted valance.

pics installed coming soon.

Got the bumper pad onto the car today. cleaned it up and gave it a few coats of rustoleum matte black plastic paint. 3m red double sided tape and BOOM, there she is...
i think it looks pretty good with the valance being black as well....dont mind the dirty car we have been having crazy weather here and havent had a stretch of days to detail her :(
PICS:)

ok my paint skills arent what they used to be, so try to understand my very crude drawing lol.

ive been looking into doing something with my rear license plate for sometime now, and was wondering what anyone else has done, other than using the big black box that comes with the car. i was thinking about making a bracket that would give the plate about a 20-30 degree angle out, almost like the opposite of what the JDM brackets do for the front plate.

Red is my car
Black is the bracket
Black arrow are the nuts
Blue is the plate
Yellow are the lights above the plate

Has anyone done this before? My dad makes steel furniture and i have access to all nesicary toold etc. so i could craft one up pretty easily. im looking for some other ideas as well..post what cha got!!

Well i was given some gifts today. which will bring me to my next phase on my car. the interior. sound deadening will be used throughout the entire car, eliminate road noise, and keep some rattling down. i plan to do all doors, hatch, and under the carpet. (anyone have a DIY on interior removal?) ill be adding another 10" JL W3, and another amp. ill be running two amps all together. one for the speakers and the other for the subs. im replacing my clarion amp that im currently running with an Alpine VPower MRP-F250. not sure on the ones for the subs yet...

Alpine.

update with installed pics of headunit asap

Happy birthday! I think they make a plate sort of what you're looking at for your rear. I know it's usually on motorcycles and it's hinged to go up when at +75 mph speeds or whatnot. But it would at least give you an idea. I saw a lot pop up when I was searching for my show n go plate holder. Try googling that. Sry if that's not much help but it's all I got!

ahh very nice, thank you. i havent had a chance to look at how the seats and center console comes out, im sure its not more than a few screws that need to be taken out. seats shouldnt be hard either. about how many sq ft did you use? i was planning on going over board and covering every inch.

seats are easy to remove its just a few bolts, center console is 6 screws and it comes out easy enough. if you go overboard and cover every inch you are just wasting money and some plastics might not go back in easily. i have 100sq ft box of soundproofing waiting to go into my car, but i am re-doing the ceilings, floors, doors and hatch area and did not want to have to get more once i started.

would covering the entire floor be beneficial to keeping road noise down? or should i just use patches to keep vibrations down? as far as doors i was going to do around the speakers and on the door as the link that teeson posted. and while im doing all this, is there anyway to make the doors more solid feeling when they close?

just dropped off the wheels at the sandblasters. should have them back either friday or monday. still not sure on what color to go with...any suggestions?

still waiting on wheels to get finished, my sandblaster ran out of material and for some reason his material supplier has been late on his delivery. hopefully this week ill get them back and get them sprayed. i think im going with bronze for now.
