Rear rotors

:
2007 Mazda CX-9 Touring
I just got my shipment of rear rotors from mazda. It seems like they eliminated the holes for the rotor screws, are these screws necessary? I have the 5 holes for the lug nuts 1 bigger hole which i assume is for the adjustment screw of the parking brake and a small threaded hole which i really don't know what it is for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hole could have had 2 uses:
1) to hold the rotor flush during assembly as it travels down the line
2) to allow for a bolt to be inserted to help coax the rotor off during removal (like a drum brake has)

Either way you'll be fine without it.

Thanks for the input. I will check on the weekend to see if these are the same size. I spoke to the mazda internet sales dept and i was told that these rotors went through 4 design changes since 2007. Any reason why they would go through so many changes in design?

It could be anything from sizing, to vent design, to material choice. None of which you'd probably notice a difference of.

Stop worrying!
