Rear motor mount?

So I decided to open another thread since I have a better idea of what's going on now. Here's what happened. I changed the passenger side mount and than the front mount. The vibration was still there. I placed a floor jack underneath the transmission and lifted it a little and the vibration went away completely. The trans was leaning on the subframe bar(not sure what to call it, the frount mount is bolted onto it) I figured it was definately that mount on the trans on the driver side next to the battery. I take it out and it's a little messed up so I have a good feeling this will finally be the end of all this. I put in the new one and its just as bad. So basically all the mounts but the rear one have been changed. The reason for the vibration is the trans leaning on the subframe connector. Is there anything else that would cause that or is it definately that rear motor mount. It looks like a PITA to change so if anyone has any other ideas i can try first I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot

well, without seeing it or at least pics of it, the best I could do is guess and say "yeah, it's the rear mount".

It was the mount. Thank god. If i had gone through all that and it was still shaking I would have lost it. The thing that sucks is when you fix one problem another one shows up. I'll start a new thread for that one...

So how much of a pain was it to change the rear mount for you?

It was intresting. Taking out the wires that block the bolt was really easy. Getting the bolt out of the mount was the biggest PITA. My jack handle wouldn't fit over my breaker bar so i had to use it on a smaller ratchet. i was suprised that ratchet didn't snap on me. It's pretty straightfoward though.

So basically you did this with a jack and on your back? That must be annoying, thank god I have access to a lift.

No I had a lift too. I was using the jack handle for leverage. That bolt is really tight. Unless you are superman you are going to need a big breaker bar or a jack handle like I used. Good luck.

There's a "how-to" and I think he mentioned it. I just tightened by hand. When you take the bolt out you'll get an idea of how tight it is.
