rear brakes

Do they come off just like the front ? And can I compress them with a C clamp like the front ?

No you can't compress them with a c clamp, if you do you can mess up the caliper. There's a how to on the rear brakes read it

Hah i wrongfully pressed by brakes with clamps like I did with my front pads.. ended up destroying my rear caliper
behind the caliper, aligned with the piston you'll see a bolt, undo that and get a hex wrench and turn the little gear counter-clock wise, that will release the piston from its forward position THEN you can use a clamp, but never force it too tight cuz you're gonna put too much stress on that very gear bolt.

Unless your caliper is seized and the allen screw won't retract it. It's happened to most of us at one point or another. A new caliper isn't too expensive or too hard to install.

I didn't undo any sort of bolt - I did them like my old SHO's calipers:

spin them clockwise (the pistons themselves). They "screw" back into the caliper.

It is, but that's not how much they cost.

Rockauto has a rear caliper at $70, Autozone at $80...I could go on...

^You are the only person (that i know of) that has done that. I 'know' doing the procedure (above/unscrew the hex adjuster) does work...

The thing that concerns me about doing that with the caliper is if your allen adjuster or the gear attached to it is damaged (gunked, stripped, etc) I would think that you're going to get all the way through your work on the brakes, then find you can't adjust the pads to get the ebrake working again. Then you have to do the caliper anyway!

I just did mine not 2 weeks ago when I replaced all 4 rotors with drilled/slotted rotors with hawk HP pads. The first rear tossed me for a loop, as I wasn't quite sure if it was frozen, or I was doing something wrong. thought I'd remembered doing it like that before, so I tried it and (because redneck) - it "wurked".
