Rattle in my MS3

I have a 2007 MS3 with 109K on the odometer and it runs great, but I have a rattle in the right rear section of the car that is driving me crazy. We have put it on the lift and inspected everything possible underneath that could cause the rattle and have not found anything loose enough to cause it. I have also removed everything from the rear hatch area including the spare tire and it still ratlles. Has anyone had a similar experience?

It's possible that there's actually something under the trim panels that's rattling.

You are probably correct in that assumption. I figured it was either that are the rear facia (Bumper) which is mainly attached with those quick release plastic fasteners.

Check the rear swaybar end link on that side. It does not "rattle" as much as clunk, but at your mileage, it is suspect.

You need a hex wrench and a proper size box end to keep it from rotating while you tighten it. If it is tight and still makes noise, time to replace. Easy job, inexpensive part.
