I'm not trying to be an arrogant a-hole at all, and I do agree that a lot of people do bash on the show cars when they don't really have anything special of their own.. but I personally will not back up a "show car" that looks like it spent a weekend in mexico, nor will 99% of judges... and I'm sure you will agree with me on this.
i dont really like the 2 tone one so much..........but i like the idea. perhaps if it was silver on bottom and black on top instead of red.........or maybe just some better color combo. i always give props to people modding cars..........to each his own..........but i still like making fun of other peoples. hell i make fun of my own. i used to love that i painted my calipers yellow on my mp3 but after driving the speed for a while i realized that the yellow calipers looked like s*** and i should have done it a different color or not at all.

But when somebody comes on the site with a car built for speed the persons views and ideas are accepted just like everybody else. But just like the real world there are always going to be people who would rather put somebody down and try and make a funny rather then not say anything at all. Some of those Protege's might not be up to all of your liking, but there is alot of work into those.
And as for the bags not being practical...cars are raced overseas with full air suspension, air bag suspensions and air strut suspensions. Some race and drag cars use air suspensions to raise them up so they can get onto trailers. Cars with air ride can be lowered to coilover level and handle pretty damn good considering. Besides whats safer cruising around the streets in a car with air ride, or barreling down the highway doing 127mph like stated before with other people around you...you tell me.

I bet if the MSP and the aftermarket support for the Proteges didnt materialize, we will be liking these cars..I myself with two proteges is into show and go but mostly for show...Will people here bashed me for doing a JDM on my 2gen pro?? hope not..

The thing about it is...you just have to not care what anybody thinks. Just do what you want. My bf owns a Honda...Civic...and everybody gives him s***. But he builds it because thats what he likes. His isnt riced out, its clean, simple, and built. He plans on doing alot more to it just money permiting, but he does do all of the work on my car and his himself (working at a bodyshop has its perks). But he always told me...you just have to not care what anybody thinks....take nothing personal. Do what you want to do. And thats what he does, and thats what I do.
I am sure all of those kids have heard s*** before for what they did to there cars, I have been in the car with my bf when cops have pulled him over and asked him why he wasted all of his money on that car....but he does it because thats what makes him happy, its what makes all of us happy. I can appreciate a stock car, a fast car, a custom car, and a full show car. I know what it takes to build one through watching my bf and all of his friends build them. A close friend of ours is in the process of building a strip car (which actually holds the world record right now for fastest MK4 bodystyle GTi) and I see what he puts into his car. Its time, its money, and most of all its blood, sweat, and tears. You just gotta do it and not care. Do it for yourself.

I know the feeling, NJ roads arent to pretty themselves. My bf daily drove his Civic on air with 18s and 35 series tires for 2 years straight on these bad ass NJ roads before he finally destroyed a rim, thats a pretty good streak. We have potholes you can get lost in.
