radio removal

easy solution take it to ur local mazda dealership and have them take it out. its easier for them to do it and they dont charge. YES you are reading correctly the dealership will not charge to remove your radio.

if u ask nicely, go to bestbuy and they'll do it for free too.
i went to futureshop once to ask if they could remove it for me for a quick second, the guy wanted to charge me 20 bucks for it!
what a joke!

If you go to walmart and in the aisle where they have have the speakers there will be a Din tool which looks "U" shaped you need four of those you grab that take off the two black plastic strips on the left and right side of the radio [they pop off with a knife or so] then you stck the din tool in the holes on the side of the radio until you hear a click [both sides] As shown in the pictures. After you get the din tools in you pull the right to the right and th left to the left and pull out at the same time. it wll take a few tries but its simple. dont pull the din tools to the left and right too much or you may break them.

I intalled all my speakers using a RCA converter.

The dealer over here wanted to charge me $45 to do it. Is there some written/unwritten rule that says they must do it for free?

Is this on a case by case basis or true across the board? I have the Din tools, but they are not connecting to the hooks/clips on top. I removed the glove box and was able to see the bottom clips connected, but the ones on top were spread outward and the din tools couldnt reach it.

I took mine to a Ford dealership and they charged me $12. Oh..that's after a week of trying to use the coat-hanger trick and breaking that bastard. Best money I ever spent.

That's very reasonable, however I don't see why you couldn't get it out using a coat hanger...

I had the same problem with the din tools on the top not connecting. What i did was push the tabs in and after that they worked perfectly fine.
