radiator cap

I feel pretty bad about it cause I'm the one that sold him my Apex'i radiator cap.
I had it on my manual MP5 w/ FM turbo without any issues once so ever. I'm going to give him his money back but we are just stumped why his leaks like that. The difference I can think is radiator size difference between a MSP and MP5, or that the cap doesn't fit correctly or that his radiator can't handle the pressure and is leaking from somewhere.

Another idea came up was that maybe Supman shut off his car after a hard run right away, with a 1.3 Bar radiator cap it leaks if you shut off your car after a hard run like that. Then again you should never shut of the car after a hard run cause it's really bad for the turbo. I think it says that in the MSP manual as well.

My stock rad cap was leaking so I replaced with the green Mazdaspeed one now it works great. Never had trouble with it overflowing. The higher pressure cap will allow the coolant to get hotter before it starts to boil. Its the boling that causes the overflow. What yo do risk is causing leaks in other parts of the system with the higher pressure.

i'm recieving my tt on weds. I didn't shut off the car qiuckly after run, it was when i opened my hood and saw coolent spraying out of the cap all over, then i shut it off. I want this cap though, argh i guess its not meant to be..
