And yes my engine is dirty. I live in MT and on a dirt road and we just finished up winter, hopefully. :P

you might wanna take off the bracket that connects to the engine block and your MAF. your MAF is plastic and isn't meant to take shock or vibrations. i know a few members in our club have broken their MAF casing (resulting in having to buy a new MAF for $$$) as a result of bolting it the same way as you.

Any suggestions where to mount that bracket to? That one was per instructions from RACtive. I'll look around my step dads shop and see if I can find some brackets and see how else i could support it.

I have that installed too. Would connecting it to that spare bolt near the battery a better idea?

SilentSno - Are you having any rubbing issues on the tube connected to the throttle body near the bend?

I didn't when I installed it last night. I'll double check in a few hours during my lunch.

I could probably make some brackets that hooked onto the clamps that attaches to the spare bolt near the battery like you mentioned. Hmm...

I have some rubbing issues around that bend and it's scratching the tubes real bad. Is there any thing around this instead of wrapping some rubbers on that area to prevent scratches? And as to MAF being broken off since it's connected along with the engine block (as per Ractive says), I might just connect it on that spare bolt near the battery if that really helps a lot.

nice, i wish the bracelets were yellow, that way it could match the color of ur car u know?

I know but i got it cheap with no other options at: CarXpressions.com they had to drop ship it to be from RActive, so it took two weeks, but well worth it for the cheap price. I'm going to look around town for some yellow hose and couplers(bracelets) or whatever they are called.

good good i bought mine as second hand for half the original price, i was lucky that i got yellow bracelets :D yellow looks good on midnight blue..and no i wont trade my bracelets to yours :D

Good install. I have mine bolted to the spare battery bolt as ards suggested. One thing to watch out for though is the rubbing on the brake reservoir. It will rub so i suggest coming up with another bracket. That worked for me. In the meantime, you could wrap that part of the intake tube with a piece of bicycle tire and some clamps. Believe me, it will try and rub through the pipe so be careful. Always keep tabs on it and you should be ok. Good luck.

Yea, I plan on moving both brackets. Both will go away. Making two new brackets. One attached to the filter dropping straight down out of the way and attaching to where the stock airbox used to attach to. Then the other from the MAF too the unused one next the battery, so its no long attached to the one on the block.

So soma, did you attach another one to a clamp to pull it towards the front of the car and away from the Brake reservoir? Or any pics would certainly be better.

And yes it is rubbing a bit. I can feel it on the tubing already. :(

But just after doing this, I've got the tuner bug. I don't want to stop messing with it. Next up, replace my stock bushings w/ the new better ones i've had for months now. Then paint my brake calipers.

sorry, but i can't take pics cause i took the intake off for the winter. I actually fabricated my own bracket cause the one that ractive gives you is crap. You may also want to consider moving your coolant reservoir. Cause you'll find that the filter will rub up against it as well. Its a pretty poor setup but its cheap so you have to work with it.As soon as i throw the intake back on, i'll take some shots and post them. It might be a couple of weeks though....sorry but its still cold up north(canada)

well I used to have ebay intake, very similar to ractive ones. I had to cut about 2in of pipes to prevent it hitting it from brake solenoid.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions, I probably won't cut the pipe, unless its last resort, I'll try to find time this weekend to make some brackets. Keep ya informed.

if you are having same condition like my old ebay intake...you should cut it...otherwise it will damage one or another and you will get serious problem
if not, you just need good brackets.

In order to prevent scratching, I just wrapped it with some rubber to make it as a cushion from that brake solenoid. And keeping an eye on it, it works fine for me. No more scratches and with just one bracket connected to the spare bolt near the battery.
