Racing Harts go bye bye!

Just my luck, finally got the ECU flash yesterday, and it started to f'n snow.

So, going to buy my winters today. Probably going on very shortly. I live on a large hill, so I can't take the chance of not getting home since most of my driving is early morning, or late at night....ideal snow times

Just in Case their might be someone that hasn't been told yet

DO NO DRIVE WITH THE STOCK BRIDGESTONE TIRES ON IN SNOW!

There's only 1000's messages here saying the same, but I thought I'd stick that reminder out again as i do not want to see anyone hurt

blizzak = CRAP

Can't stand them. for the money their horrible. I got some steelies ( puke ) and getting a better winter tire loaded with studs. If you know what to look for in a winter tread pattern, and you can use studs in your area, you do not need blizzaks. Now if you can't use studs....your stuck, but I still wouldn't pay that kind of money for blizzaks. I've driven many cars with them, and they aren't that great for our winters up here.

I tried getting some cheap 15" rims for winter, but I just gave up.

I hear ya newf. Got the "ICE" warning on the mirror yesterday morning and drove to work VERY carefully. :) I got a set of pirelli snows on steelies, I guess the time has come. Stupid winter!

Hey- the pirelli 210 snowsport in the 16" size have gotten great reviews, and not just on snow- on tirerack.com they have them for 102/ea in the 16" size- just my .02

i have pirelli on my 15" steelies and i think they work great, i have had my car in deep snow with no problems. Im not sure of the model # they are in my attic( hopefully for at least another month)

I don't remember what model mine are either. They are on 15" rims I think. They seemed to work quite well this past winter. ( I got my car in Feb so I grabbed the snows right away.) The tires and steelies were about $800 Cdn from the dealer.

Go for Nokian Hakka 1 which are studdables :D

I went with 15" Pirelli Snowsports which are perfect for CT winters. They handle extremly well in the dry for a snow tire, and handle slush really well. My only big issue was hard stops, but that's because my rotors were massive ly warped from the factory, I believe. The ABS has been wonderful since I got them replaced.

I'e got one moe auto-x this season on the Bridgestones, and then the snows go on. Hopefully the snow this week won't be too bad!

Nokians rule! This year I'm picking up a set of Toyo Observe's in 195/60R15's, instead of my usual Nokian Hakka Q's. =) Just for a change of pace. See how they work. I hear good things about them!

On these rims, painted by me. =)

I bought the Q's too.

I'm getting them mounted on 15" 5 spoke American Racing wheels; cheaper wheel but alteast is better looking than those Steelies!

i feel for you guys. it is beautiful her in TX, clear blue, dry air and about 75.

thanks for the info though. i like the looks of those Nokian Hakka. i go skiing every year so i will look into those.

strange, my post never showed up

Anyhow, my tires

200 for steelies
72 for each tire, 8 bucks for studs. Balancing and install free

add tax

Done.

Canadian $$$

I thought it would be worth mentioning that it is a nice 78 degrees on the coast here in san diego, with a nice soft breeze.
