Has anyone raced another car at all in their MSP? I haven't really got the chance since around here in OH we've been hit with a lot of snow, so the car's just been sittin in the garage. But anyways post any stories if you got 'em. Thanks.

Ive had a few races so far.
1st: Late 60's Nova. Couple of kids driving started pumping on me at the stop light. I had no intention of racing them at first but i figured id see what the MSP could do. 1 & 2nd gear I accelerated somewhat aggresively ( i still wasnt sure if i wanted to race) by this time the nova is about 1/2 car length if front of me. 3rd gear i decide what the hell and floor it and basically just walked away from the nova. The nova didnt sound to hot. Just some Flows i'd guess.
2nd: 93 Civic coupe with GSR, TypeR header, exhaust, intake and a bad 2nd gear syncro. My launches suck and im shifting real easy. 1st was close then i pulled a bit as he struggled to get into second 3rd he pulls hard and spanks me by about 1.5 car lengths. This guy runs 14.8's on 17" street tires with a good tranny.
3rd: 96 GSR w/ intake, header, exhaust ,cam gears and typeRcams. basically same race as # 2.

My friend has a 99 Integra with intake, exhaust, and header on it. It's pretty quick but I just feel like my car is faster. Do you think I'll win against him? I think i should have him through the low gears but he would prolly take me on high end.

is it a LS or GSR?
No doubt you should beat the LS.
A GSR? well.... depends on how good of drivers both of you are.

I don't have an MSP but I have a turbo Protege5, I spanked a GSR, not from a stop, slightly rolling but a hard spank, he had intake, exhaust, and either cam gears or cams, he had a rough forien accent. Anyway, I've also raced an Audi tt, he let off after I had about 2 cars on him in first gear, and then two 2002 VW GTI, one was a 1.8t, the other a VR6, both got tore up. I doubt any mods on the VR6, the 1.8t had intake though. He's one of my friends, he hit's 15.1 at the track.

I too have a turbo Protege5. I've raced and handily beaten an MSP, along with more than a few other cars out there. Tricked out mustangs and firebirds give me trouble, I've found...

this guy must be a sucky driver even with 17's on. His car should be capable of running low-mid 14's. GS-R motor in a stock 93 Civic coupe which weighs 2400lbs. It should run anwhere from high 14.9-15.2sec stock, but then he also has a Type-R header, exhaust, intake. That should have dropped the 1/4mile time to at least 14.3-14.6sec with mods. BTW you also say he run's 14.8 on 17's with good tranny. If he had a bad 2nd gear he at least looses a .5-.8 sec off of a 1/4mile time which means he is running anywhere from 15.3-15.7sec. Which the MS-P runs low 15's stock. I don't know man this sounds kinda fishie, hehe:p. Also my friend owns a 91 civic hatch with a b-16 highly modified bacic bolt ons and lost by 1car lengh to a S2000 With 50shot.

I've got:
(at 8 1/2 PSI of course)
Scoobaru Turbo L (stock WRX turbo,intercoler,afc,3' downpipe and exhaust, FMU - walked him
03 1.8T GTi (intake) - I'm at little faster
Handful of civics - beat all but one
91 CRX SI (b16, intake, balanced, clutch) - walked him on the highway
99 GT - Walked him
00 WS6 - HAHA He ate me for Breakfest
02 WRX (friend Blugin - Too many mods to list) - looks like I was standing still

Oh s***, you have the boost controler huh Chris? I need to hurry up and get my exhaust installed. I will probably get my BEGI Downpipe ceramic coated when it arrives.

I-Am-Chris, how hard was it to install that boost controller? Is it easy to use or install? The problem is I'm brand new to a turbo car and I don't know that much about them so I'd want someone else to install it. I just don't know much people in the Cincinnati area who could since the car is brand new.

Ok talk about fishie!! a hb w b16 losing by only a car to a S2k w50shot? the S2k driver must be pretty crappy himself and the hb driver must be freakin S.papadakis. ;)
Ok maybe the guy in the coupe isnt the best driver . never said he was just STATED what he ran. What kind of MPH and 60' is needed to run a 14.3 with those mods?
Maybe in a perfect world with the perfect conditions these times could be ran but on any given day.. not likely.

This was my first time tryin to launch the msp. I held it at 3k and slipped the clutch but didnt work out well. It felt like it was lighting them up so i let off and then got back on it.

um well that depends . . . this is like my 5th one to install
um you have to wire in the electrics...I ran my lines through the grommet on the firewall under the pass. floorboard. Um I had already installed my boostgauge so i just "t"ed into that for the boostline. mount the solenoid box. Run the vac. lines (biggest b**** of them all, mazda glued everything) other than thats its pretty strait foward.

On the other hand I might be Selling my Boost controller. Its a Blitz DBC Spec-R. Make me an offer anyone? anyone?

Yeah My friend ran 13.6 in a stock S2K. Now a 50 shot would be crazy on that car

have you ever seen 93 hatchback civic's With b16's motors in them. They pretty much are in the high 14's to low 15's stock in a 2300-2400pound car. Now my buddy has his 91 hatch pretty modified all out as far as i know, mostly aem stuff under the hood. (VTEC controller) AEM CAI, greddy cat-back, DC-headers, AEM pulleys, AEM cam gears. Etcc...... you know the basic bolt on's. I know he smokes several converted LS-VTEC's around here but have no idea what he runs in the 1/4mile. Also as far as i know the S2000#'s that i know of and have seen are around the 14.1-14.4sec 1/4times. I'm Not saying that this is the accurate #'s but all i have seen. http://www.car-videos.com/performance/view.asp?id1=26&id2=0

Yeah, ive seen tons of them.
Even with the "basic bolt ons" he'd be lucky to hit a low 14 unless he's on slicks. So at best , he could maybe hang with a stock S2K
Now a NOS'd S2K... no contest. Unless the S2K owner didnt squeeze in every gear. Maybe he didnt want to beat him that bad or maybe he didnt want to use up much of his nitrous. Who knows but somethings fishie about it.
