Hey guys I am actually not a mazda speed 3 owner, had to choose between that and the new cobalt ss/tc. I wen the cheaper route but I need your help if you will give it me. I'm just a car guy asking a car guy for help. I ha already tuned my car and got 287whp and 329wtq and I just ordered a nitrous kit for it also.

Here is my question everyone on the chevy forums have really no idea on the direct injection engine so thats why i'm here asking you. On a direct injection engine should I spray a wet or dry shot? I am asking because normally there is no fuel induced into the engine that far up he intake tract. Also sould I spray before of after the turbo? I was thinking after the turbo within a few inches of the throttle body to prevent pooling or anything related to it.

So guys if you will please help me out. I am now putting on my flame suite and getting ready for some major flameage.

id say spray a 150 dry shot and a 150 wet shot at the same time and blow that thing up......

then go buy an MS3

So no one wants to help me just because I actually don't own a MS3?? I don't look at brands I look at cars and see some really nice cars. I liike the MS3 but lets be rational I paid 18k for my 08 cobalt SS/TC and my insurannce is $75 a month who in here has paid that for their brand new MS3? All I am asking is for a little help with the direct injection engine. As far as Nitrous being steroids I agree but I also already have the kit along with a 3" catless downpipe, and custom 3" mandrel bend exhaust, also 2.5" charge piping sitting at the house awaiting install. So my little car with out steroids will put down around 300whp under normal circumstances and probably around 360 on steroids which is just to play around with. And in the mean time with my tune alone I picked up 10MPG on the highway and 6 overall average so Thats putting me at 26.7 in the city and 41 on the highway. If I had the extra 5k to spend I would have gotten the MS3 but I didn't at the time and my credit is so screwed up I couldn't borrow the 5k.

you want to spray it close to the throttle body why would you even think about spraying it in the intake thats kind of stupid because of everything it has to pass through before it gets to the throttle body. as far as wet or dry shot youd have to ask ppl that actually have expierence with it on the ms3

Thanks for that much of the info thats really helpful, I was thinking that but other people have told me it would make the turbo spool faster thats why I asked about the intake. i figured they were wrong. I really appreciate you help thanks.

You need to get more bent out of shape about it first.

I guess the only reason I am bent out of shape is because I help people no matter what the brand of their car I came here because I was hoping to find the same type of person I guess I should have waited a little longer. I did come here and was prepared to get flamed but at the same time I am also really looking for some help. I appologize to everyone if I did take it out of proportion I don't feel I did but if I am wrong I appologize.

I would help ya but I don't know dick about nitrous. Have you done anything to the internals to support that power, or you confident that the internals will hold?

Gmac

Yeah these motors are holding 350 all day long with stock internals they are really robust..the new transmission is also good to 350whp I will need a clutch as it is only good to 300hp.

putting nitrous thru the compressor housing dosent make it spool faster the turbo spools faster as a result of the nitrous going into the cylinder and adding to combustion and producing hotter exhaust gas with more velocity out of the cylinder with inturn spools the turbo faster. Because the faster you get the gas out of the cylinder the faster those turbine blades will spin

Too many zoom zoom boom threads around here! Not so much with the ms3 but the protege's notoriously weak motor put a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Mostly having something to tune for it!

I have HPT for the tuning of my car and all I will have to do is pull out a couple degrees of timing. I got part of the answer and it was what I thought I should do spray within a few inches of the throttle body all I need to know now is if I should do a wet or dry shot the kit I got has a fogger nozzle but it will work both ways. I am only going to spray a 50 hp shot for fun.

i dont know if they make them for the newer cobalt throttle bodys, but ive seen for the older ss/sc cobalts that they make throttle body spacers with nitrous ports built into them.

Thats the thing with the newer ones There is not very many aftermarket parts available yet. I will look into it but I am pretty sure they use diff throttle bodys. Thats good info to know though, def worth looking into.

do a dry shot. i dont think there is a nos kit that can hold the dis fuel pressure. unless u tap into the line comeing from the intank pump wich should be normal psi. on my set up i did a dry kit. i starded with a 35 shot and then ended up going to a 75-80 shot.

Yeah on top of the engine before the fuel goes into the fuel pressure regulator its normal pressure with a schrader valve and then it goes into the pressure regulator and then into the cam driven fuel pump which raises the pressure to something like 2200psi.

You got me, I pay $78. :)

LOL once again I appologize for being a dick, I should have been more paitent and I have found you guys very helpful I did get my answers I needed eventually directly from NOS I can run a wet shot but I will need a drive by wire module to do so. They also said a 50hp should work very well with my car.
