Question about wheels (15x6.5 +30 offset)

Just wondering how a 15x6.5 +30 wheel on 195/50/15 tires would look? Will I run into any problems with rubbing if I lower it? Also how about gas milage/speedometer change?

I'd like to have it as close to flush as I can without using spacers. Does anyone have pictures of this set up?

Thanks

That's a plus zero tire size and will work great on those wheel specs. This car has a high offset range even dropped onto the ground. With a 6.5 inch wide wheel skys the limit (almost).

If you had searched a little you would have found this:

I have a very similar setup, 15X7 +30 on OEM tires, and if you slam the car, it will rub in front (with no camber alterations, only available through camber-bolts or STD R3 coilovers that come with camber-plates, the only coilovers ont the market that have those BTW). You will also rub in the rear on very big bumps taken at speed.

All false. You will rub with a 15X6.5 +30 on 195's, at slammed right-height (tire-tucking).

I rub all day, everyday when I turn the wheels in front, and rub on high-speed bumps at the rear. Hopefully my new coilovers will fix that because that have front camber-plates. A little rool on both end would hurt either.

Sorry for not searching. What would you suggest for specs if I don't do coikcovers (can't afford them ) should I forget about lowering if I go with this size?

Mine (in the thread linked above) have plenty of room with Racing Beat springs, but that's not a huge drop. I'm not sure if I'd trust it with anything lower.

The rear wheel well has a weird protruding hump for no reason that can be removed by cutting only rubs here when large bumps. As for the drop that's why I said (almost) some people have road grating drops and I would expect those to rub.

I would rather run a +35 or higher. A 6UL 15X7.5 +36 would look killer with a 205\50 on H&R Sport springs.

Not to be a PITA, but you said '...even dropped to the ground' in answering the OP about rubbing lol!

The hump you are talking about is a type of OEM bounding material. I would not cut it by fear of interfering between the inner and outer layer of the wheel well. A roll would be safer.

I went ahead and bought the set up. I also bought eibach springs, since I heard those are the springs mazda uses for their lowering kit. I'll post updates once everything is installed. Thanks for the help.

I'm currently running 15x7.5 949racing wheels with 205/50/R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE11's. My Mazda2 is also dropped 1 inch in the front and rear with Bilstein Coilovers with NO rubbing issues what so ever. However I would have to run a spacer in the front to clear the bottom of the Bilstein strut if I were running 15x8 wheels.
