You've probably seen my other thread about getting new tires/rims.
In a related matter, in my quest for all the answers, I called the Mazda dealer today and asked what has to be done with the TPMS, if I were to upgrade to 20" wheels. Assuming that the manufacturer claims that their rims were 100% compatible with the OEM TPMS, he was a bit unsure and admitted, that to date, his dealership has not experienced anyone upgrading their CX-7 wheels. He did say, that once I had the new tires/rims mounted, that driving around for about 10 minutes may automatically reset/recalibrate the sensors to the new rims. He then said, failing that, I'd have to bring it in and they'd have to hook it up to their computer to recalibrate.
My question to anyone out there in cyber-land, who HAS upgraded their rims and tires, how did you deal with the TPMS? (uhm)
Thanks, Vince.
