question about hi-boost/atx

I'm planning on getting an 06 Mazda3 5dr. I will only be looking at automatics as other people will drive the car at times(before adding a turbo). I'd really like to know more about how the Hi-Boost is with the auto. I'm not looking for anything insane power-wise but I want something that will be fairly fun as a 2nd car. I've read a bit about the Lenteh valve bodies. I'm wondering how reliable the car will be with maybe 10-12 psi. I have searched on here and haven't gotten too much more information about reliability. I'm also wondering if anyone is using a full Lentech or other aftermarket transmission. I realize that after you run an amount of boost, you'll need to upgrade internals(upgrading anything inside the engine is a non-issue as I've rebuilt several engines so it would just be parts).

I'm sort of concerned about the transaxle and the stock components. I'm also wondering about what exhaust would be good to run(I've been checking out canisters but no nothing about exhausts for small cars). Is there a good header available too? I might be missing something in the searches that I've done so any help would be appreciated even if its just sending me to a thread I might have missed.

you can't run a header with a turbo... if you get the hiboost kit and if you have the 2.3l iirc it comes around 7-8psi and you should be putting down close to 240hp np on stock internals but you would want the valve bodies for the autotragic... if you are going to go with higher boost and want to go with forged internals i would honestly suggest something else as your car as that type of investment seems a bit silly if it must be an automatic what about a mustang or maybe a bmw??? something that has a high power out put that has an automatic option sounds like your best bet... i nice used bmw would be right up your alley.

I'm also unsure that the automatic transmission can handle a lot of power..
I'm a honda guy so I don't know that much about mazdas yet, but I know witht he honda automatic trannies it was a really bad idea to boost anything more than a few pounds on a smaller sized turbo.

anyone know how much power an auto mazda tranny can hold?

with out the valve bodies i wouldn't go higher then 200hp from what i remember people saying... i believe with the valve bodies and a tranny cooler you could run the same as the mtx guys around 7-8psi which is close to 220-240hp...

sounds like it'll be a valve body and 7-8psi then. I don't need anything insane so that'll work just fine. I was planning on a valve body anyway as I've read a little bit about people saying they have slight hesitation from a stop. thanks
