After doing some engine mods, im now looking towards doing my exhaust... but im limited on money. I was wondering if the apex downpipe w/cat bolts on to the stock catback.

no? it made me pass inspection.. it got rid of my CEL light and no one bugged me at all when i went for emissions

If they really check emissions then since there's no cat there, he may fail. Especially as rish as we run.

Even the catted downpipe gives good gains. I went with that. If there's no emissions inspection for you than by all means get the catless.

I have the 2.5" Apex downpipe with cat, and I love it. It really helped the car over the entire rev range, especially on the top end. I'm glad I got it and I'm confident that you will be, too.

I have been wanting to get one. Where did you get it and how much was it?

i just send out payment for a used one last week. Fairly excited about it. I got a catted one.... i coulda passed here in TX if i didn't have the CEL, but its a moral kinda thing, and my parents weren't crazy about it.

And yes, it bolts up to the stock cat back and s-pipe

Is it a lot louder with a catted midpipe bolted to the stock cat-back (round MS muffler)?

There wasn't a significant change in the noise level. The only noise difference it made was to make the exhaust sound a little bit deeper. That's it. Power was definitely improved, especially top end. I can now take cars that I couldn't keep up with on the highway before.

"Down" of the Dead?

LOL. Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw somebody brought it back. At least they're doing their research and not opening new threads to rehash old info. (ughdance)
