Q bout haltech f10x

thats interesting --- cut the memory wire and it resets the CEL after shut off (uhm)

Bump for more info :) if the ecu cant remember what it was doing -- then what mode will it want to run in ?? like matt said -- will it run poorly like you just reset it ???

i've been running it since october and can't say it runs poorly at all, runs very well. my fuel economy is not too much worse, and only because i have yet to set up my closed loop operation.

Well the Haltech F10X is controlling the injectors, so the only thing the stock ECU is controlling is the ignition timing.

you can try it... ;)
I am getting the e6x.... seems like everyone is getting one and moving away from the mpi.

i guess i could cut the wire or throw in a switch and see how my gas milage changes.

I wonder why that would be??? None of these people who are switching though will go back to any of the threads where I suggested switching and tell me "you were right".
(fight)

p.s. Matthew you have to promise us that if you buy a haltech and you have some small issue with it you won't raise hell and get all pissy about it.

i wouldnt, i got pissy for a reason with the mpi. so no one answered my question yet about the wire

Yeah thats the ticket just ignore your pcm warning you something is wrong with your car. I mean it must be wrong right? It is only the brain of your car.

well all you do is tlk about take it to so and so blah blah blah like youre the man, but you have yet to help once.

if youre so great, why dont you take the time you use to b**** to help people like me out?

instead you always give some convoulted answer that amounts to nothing. meanwhile i have tried everything anyone has suggested with the car and its still throwing a rich code. the car isnt running rich, so what the **** is the difference?

He BlkZoomZoom, chill man. I don't agree with cutting that wire why the stock ECU still has some control of the engine at all myself, but don't resort to calling people morons.

yet people suggest to continue to reset the computer, so what is the difference? nothing.

i dont know what else to do with this thing, ive tried everything everyone has suggested.

If you look back in your other "help" threads I have tried to help and throw out suggestions. However at this point in the game I do feel it would be better to bring it to someone that knows what their doing and has the equipment to diagnois it properly.
For all you know you could have a contaminated maf sensor or something simple that I could diag. in 2 mins with the WDS.

I do apologize for the comment however, I guess I'm alittle stressed at the moment. I'm watching my 4month old niece that has 2 teeth coming in.....

ok lets just step back and ill accept and let me apolgize for getting defensive.

heres my dilema -
1) im not great with my car, but at least i know what has and will be done...in otherwords if something starts to **** up with my wastegate for example, i put that s*** in and so i know where everything is.
2) around here there really isnt ANYONE i would trust. when i tell the garages around here i have a turbo and they start asking about "NOS" and "blowers" it doesnt make me feel too good. the nearest places seem to be in LA or San Diego which are at least 5-8 hours away, and i cant be without my car. i know this is my fault etc etc, but im really trying to just solve the problem on my own.

i am open to any suggestions, and i have ALL weekend to try them. i can take pics of anything or describe anything that has been done already to troubleshoot. im at my wits end, but i have to have this car everyday.

The only code you have is a p0172-bank1 system too rich, is it additive or muplitcative? What are the long and short term fuel trims? Do you have access to a scantool that you can monitor sensors?

To determine whats wrong with your car you need to know what everything is doing. You need to be able to monitior various sensor inputs to the pcm. Such as ect, iat, maf, o2, ho2, evap. purge, etc.

Without knowing what these inputs are telling the pcm it is impossible to know what the problem is. If you seriously want to diagnois this yourself I suggest finding a scan tool (or laptop program) that will allow you to do these things.

Mathew..if you wana reset the ecu..you should just install a switch to the ecu...not sure on the wire..but i am sure linux can help out on that..he's pulled out the ecu so many times.he probly has the whole thing memeorized.

chas ;)
