going to be getting the double din dvd/nav once/if metra releases a piano black dash kit.

wanting to upgrade my speakers and such. upon changing out my speakers would i be able to hook an amp to my stock headunit to power my new speakers?

Yes, you can. It's purely a question of getting signal. I hear, however, that the bass signal out of the stock HU is a problem, and requires one of the various remedies that restores the bass band out of the sport HU. The GT HU with bose amp does not have this issue, fortunately for me. I spliced right into the preamp signal out of the HU and fed it to my Alpine and boston acoustics, and I was off to the races.

I have an amp hooked up to my MS3 sport, the stock speakers are horrible. I had Circuit City do it so my warranty wasn't voided. Can't remember what they did exactly but if you talk to someone at Best Buy or anyone who knows something about car audio they can explain it to you.

The sound is good enough for me, its not as loud and "thumpin" as other cars you hear on the street but its perfect for casual listening.

I do not think Metra or others plan to release one with a Piano Black finish. Apparently it's pretty expensive to do in a limited quantity (1 year's worth of production for Mazda).

I have the Bose like someone else mentioned above. MTX makes a great OEM converter to hook up the front, rear, and sub pre-amp signals. Should also work with low-amp units like the one in your MS3 Sport:
