i got a ticker for no front plate and expired registration in downtown chicago while my car was parked (when i had my license (**** ohio cops)), just goto court, it'll be dropped almost certainly..
So anyway, on with the story. Lord Zath you were right, I have no luck. There I was driving along kimball ave, on my way to school, minding my own business and SPLAT! Some A- hole threw an egg at my ride. AHHHHRG (argh) . It hit me on the top and ran down the windshield. I pulled over and there was no body in sight. The bastards probably launched it out a window. I was late for class so I took off. By the time i parked, the egg had dried. I used it all as an excuse to take my car to the car wash. All better now.

(stfu)

the car doesn't need to be occupied for the police to issue a ticket for those. i've actually seen it happen where they wrote a bunch of tickets for missing license plates and whatever they can find. i doubt you'll win an contestment of a ticket unless it's blatently obvious that they were wrong...even then you might lose. i'm convinced the city is on a revenue generating rampage.
Funny how another board member got out of his tint tickets doing just that. Actually, he took a picture of another guy's car that was the same color as his. Too bad the wheels were different and the other guy's car had a roof rack. It's always worth a try. If you give up, then you'll be just another statistic. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. In a system where we get a free shot, why the hell wouldn't you use it?

The sad thing is, if he tries to take a picture into court and the judge ask's to see the car, he is screwed.... He can be placed under arrest for contempt of court and perjury (lied in court)..... is it worth it to "give it a try" telling a guy to fight a ticket is one thing, but telling him to take a picture into a court of law and lie is another.....Remember we are here to help each other, not to set each other up for a fall...... I hand out this advise, because I am the one who pulls you over......

Cali Cops are known for being Hard-asses. You can't really do s*** to a car in Cali. People have pulled that stuff in Chicago court and gotten away w/ it. BTW that does'nt mean i'm gonna attempt it. In fact I think I'll rather pay the 25 bucks to avoid going to court. The plate is taken care of. The point I was trying to make was, they were F-ing w/ me intentionally. Dozens of cars on that block have tints and god only knows how many other violations. But did they get ticketed? Hell no. I'm convinced they were doing a favor for the neighbor next door.
In Chicago they have their own local ordinances. That is how you can get the tickets while parked as opposed to driving. You obviously pissed someone off. (neighbor or the cop writing the ticket). Try what you want to fight it, pictures ect., but the court system is so overwhelmed with petty tickets that judges go through them so fast. I would think you would be able to fight the exp. registration ticket however. good luck and do not think all cops are punk A$$.
