What has the experience been with this fuel pump? Is this fuel pump to get.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Doc

the ptp pump is brand new. i dont think theres gonna be many guys with experience really. i havent heard anything negative about it tho.
the kmds that pg sells are cheaper with an established track record. is there a reason for not wanting that one?

Not really. Was doing some reading and ran across it and sounded pretty good. Thought I would ask about the history of it. Just looking for the best track record for fuel pumps

but you can buy the internals from ptp for 300, or you can buy a pump with the internals installed already for 300 +325 refundable core charge to ensure that if was done right
im going to buy one tomorrow i think

i havent heard anything bad about them, its just id rather not risk ******* up the install myself

I need a new fuel pump badly. I think I'm going to get the PTP pump. It's half the price of the CPE pump and from reading the descriptions, it seems to do the same thing.

I gave PTP a call this morning and when they get back with me on availability of their product will order one and put it in. Will give an update here as time goes by.

I've had the PTP internals for ~20k miles. No issues, still holds 1700psi to 6k.

Several others in the local area have gotten them installed in the last month or 2 and are running flawless (probably 10-15 going strong)

so no one is having issues with the version 2 cdfp internals from pg? If so cool..but i swear ive seen some people having prabs.

these problems were prob due to the bad install advice that was floating around that said to clean and lube em w/ gas...

this cause lots of failures. since people stopped using gas the failed internals stopped.;)

I installed KMD's internals. Working great. I got the part with NO instrutions at all.

whats the KMD's holding in psi?

interested to get either but not sure if i can do the install? with limited tools

i never bash people/companies, but i will never buy another product from PTP again. especially something as important as a fuel pump

isn't that exactly what you're doing here?

Anyways, I just posted this in another thread, but here it is again for this thread... Doc, you would have seen this in the other forum already...:
I also got the pump as opposed to the internals... Did my internals with the KMD's and they took a s*** after about 700 miles... So this time, I wanted pro's doing the internals... So far I have around 400 miles on the pump and will be putting another 120 or so on tomorrow driving back from palm springs...

I leave my AP on fuel pressure monitor, and I see a solid 1750+ psi in daily driving.. It usually hits 1825+ when pushing it a bit, and I have seen spikes of over 2000 psi at WOT - not always, but sometimes...

So far I am very happy with my purchase... You can't beat the price and John at PTP offers a lifetime warranty on the pump also.

I would definitely recommend this pump over any other!

I am a non-compensated spokesperson.... Lol...

EDIT: Over 1000+ mile. With NO problems thus far!
