Proud new owner of 2012 Mazda5 Grand Touring in Clear Water Blue Mica

Just picked up a 2012 Mazda5 Grand Touring in Clear Water Blue Mica with black leather interior. So far, I am loving this car, it's a blast to drive and with all the interior amenities, want to just move in LOL. I've included some photos as well. I was previously a diehard German car fan, but with perpetual electrical problems with most of them that I owned in the past, I've finally decided to try a Japanese car.

So far, the 5 has given me the feel similar to first owning a German car as I am looking forward to driving it.

Modification I like to perform on the car is new stainless steel headers, catback exhaust, strut tower braces, and Bilstein shocks and struts. Plus, I would like to put on either the Eibach or H&R springs as well.

wow, that looks GREAT!
I'm almost glad that the dealers around me didn't have ANY GTs with leather so we don't know what we're missing with the cloth in our new Sport model. The red piping is very cool!

After all those mods are you going to do track it?!?

I know what you mean about German cars. We love my wife's '99 BMW 528i to death, but between ABS issues and a die hard transmission sensor failure light it does take a lot of TLC.
On the other hand, my (admittedly MUCH less complex) 1986 Honda CRX Si starts on the first crank even after 5 months of winter hibernation.

Best of luck with yours, keep us posted on the mods!
BTW will any of these void any warranties?

Okay, check this out. I loved the 5 so much that I also traded in my 2007 Odyssey Touring (car needs to be dropped off after work tonight) for a 2011 CX9 Grand Touring in Black Exterior / Black Leather - a leftover, on 0% financing for $37K and change. Dealer allowed me to bring home the CX9 last night, plus they gave me $1000 rebate plus $500 for loyalty and almost nothing over Invoice. It's basically the same AWD model as the 2012, and a massive 20inch alloys. Getting a hefty for the trade in too, so wound up paying less than what I was paying for the Odyssey plus no interest! Pictures to come...

dieseldriver, that's probably the last nail in the trade-in coffin for my 2007 Odyssey :D Congrats on your sweet new rides.

Congrats on the car. Typical of most dealers they put the dumb stickers on the right bottom of tail gate. Take it off asap. Enjoy the car.
