Protege5: Harder, not Smarter!

Tamn... what the hell are you trying to do?

You must be crazy (in the good way though) but still waiting to see the final product!

PS: Just took a quick look of your project... ARE YOU FKN CRAZY!!! Lol, keep up the amazing work!!!

Yes.
Thanks :)

I think (if you wanted to spend the time/body work stress) you could do the Shelby Mustang louvers that are on the side for air flow. I think that would look super cool on towards the back of the car. Or, you could take out the back triangular glass and put them there. 1) saving weight 2) it would look stinkin cool. Just my little input.

That's been my original idea so far, a radiator on each side, but I have to make room for at least 1 oil cooler, 2 turbo intercoolers as well so I'm trying to decide where to place them :)

You could do the whole roof scoops. But actually make them function. Not just sit there and look cool. But that could also be a whole lot more air restriction then your wanting to have?

When did the title of the thread get changed... Lol.

If we had a more prominent space behind the rear doors, perhaps a side swept scoop on either side would work, but that might look a little odd. Tamn's got this. Whatever you do seems to work out.

I wonder how the 650 horsepower VW Golf they had on Top Gear was cooled. Same with the Renault Clio V6 (the midship one of course) Maybe you could take a leaf from their book. I think the Golf had a Bently twin turbo engine in it...

They had the rear windows slightly angled in. But I haven't read it all in depth to see where then intercoolers would go.

Warning, anyone with a fear of large amounts of bondo carnage, avert your eyes now.

So much for keeping it nice and polished all these summers...40 grit that bumper...the horror....

After getting tired of sanding bondo I started sanding on another turbo.

Hahaha, this thread entertains me....but seriously...that bond O.O!

Get some NASCAR stickers man. And the turbo?

What's your plans for the front grill area?

Just blocking off the lower section and fog area's, leaving the rest in stock form. I mocked it up on the front end today, I'll be working it smooth all week also making the door molds as well right now. :)

Doesn't bondo ad weight? I figured you would have made some fiberglass or carbon fibre covers... Also this car appears like it will be quite fast, not gonna usethe fog light holes as brake cooling ducts?

I believe he was just using bondo to turn the existing nose into a mold to cast a fiberglass or carbon fiber one without all the holes and fog light mounts.

Yes I'm using it as a plug, the front end will be 100% carbon. This plug already has 15 pounds of bondo/foam on it and I'm not finished :)
