Hello.
I have a problem with a key remote that doesnt want to be programed with my Mazda 2 2008.
I have looked through tons of sites and guides, and tried 100 times without any luck.
Its the European version of Mazda 2 sport 2008 I got, so I think there is a different in the design inside the car, I have read a couple times that there should be a lock button(to lock all the doors) in the middle console near the handbrake, but in my car there isnt any button. The way I lock all the doors in the same time, is pressing the lock on the drivers door.
Well this is how I tried so far:
Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.
Step 2: Insert key into the ignition.
Step 3: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.
Step 4: Open and close the drivers door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).
Step 5: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
Step 6: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.
Step 7: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.
Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!
When I gets to step 5, the doors tries to lock and unlock, but it seems it got stuck half way, it tries to lock all the doors but it cant lock the drivers door because its open. I have tried to lock the drivers door when its open and it doesnt allow it. I have tried to close the drivers door after step 4 and it just locks the doors.
It seems that I am doing something correct but needs to do something else or in another way.
And I have checked the FCC ID and its the same, also it lights red when I push the buttons on the remote so there should be power on the battery.
Is there anything I missed? Or is there a little trick or another way to do it?
The key is working, I can start the car but I just cant Lock/unlock it....
Torben.
