hi guys i am in need of settings for a profec b spec2 on a msp I have searched and came up with half of the settings but not all. I want to run 12psi with no spike what settings should I use? Please include all the settings. Thank you.

insidiousmsp posted his settings for 10psi. just set it at around 20, then the gain at 13, and setgain% at around .50. then adjust the first number(20 in my example) and the set gain until you hit the desired boost smoothly and steadily. 10-20 gain is probably ideal.

the best way to set the profec b is get on the highway and get some third gear pulls in while a buddy looks at the profec and sees what boost its hitting.

-i used those base numbers on a sr20 w/non BBT25, and at 10psi, the end numbers were much higher(around 45, G:15, SG:0.35) IIRC. its best to start low and slowly build up so you can see which settings require adjustment, and how they affect the wastegate

not too many people are running 12psi, and even less with a profec b. use insidiousmsp's base or mine and tweak it from there. not everything is plug and play. there's no fun in it if you don't have to work for some results.

a simple search could have given you:

on the back of the profec b goes a line with a filter on it, it goes a surtain way, and sure it isnt cloged. Tuning is easy the big knob on the right is for start boost move to the right to number u desire and push in the button, that'll set the start boost. i have mine between 22-25. next go to the left and theres two buttons,press the bottom one and youll see gain, set as desired, u said 12 so put 12 then push in the big knob to set , next push the same button twice and that will be your set gain, mines at ten %, thatll keep a constant 12 of boost, then push in knob to set, there are alot of other features, but this should get you going, at least 12 psi worth.

well i got one and anyway greddy is sending me a new one cause mine crapped out. The 20mins it was running 10 psi i had it set at 40%-50% SET(depending on weather) , gain was 7% Intial was 7.5psi or 75 on the spec II. This spiked around 11-11.5 psi and held 9.5-10. This worked for me so let me know what you get out of it.

That's an even better start than I gave you the first time.

Let me get this right, your settings were:
Set = 40-50
Gain = 7%
Set Gain = 75??
That doesn't seem right, it looks like a setting for really high boost.
Stock 7psi + 4.5psi = 11.5 psi which seems fine, and 7% gain would probably work well, but why do you "set gain" at 75??
This might be a reason why i had no luck with mine as well, i always set my "set gain" at 10-25 and my boost won't hold if my life depended on it.
What does "set gain" mean, is it when the boost controller starts communicating with the wastegate? why do some people leave it at 0 and some turn it up to 75??
I need answers, please.
Also, what would happen if you just turned everything up and controlled the max boost with the limmiter?? for example:
Set = 50
Gain = 50
Set gain = 80
Warning = 100 or 10psi
Limmiter or reducer = 5%
Thanks for your help,
Vik.

Okay to get it to probably hold at 12 psi... I would start at..

Set = 30
Gain = 7
set gain = 40 - 45
warning 12.5
limiter 99

Work your way up from there. Start with raising the "Set" by increments of 1 until you get close to the boost you want. Depending on your mods it will vary. Then raise the gain slightly like up to 8 or 9 MAX... Possibly even 10 until your boost holds. But you shouldnt have to use more than that... Set gain should be adjusted after you get your boost to hold at what u want.

From waht i understand
Set is what boost u want to run..
Gain is to hold the boost (not to much though)
set gain is how fas the turbo spools.
The L0 - 99% is how much u want boost to go back to stock when u hit the limiter. So set it at 99% so it goes back down to stock boost.

The other setting is what boost u want it to spike up to before its to dangerous. So set that at 125 for 12.5PSI. EBC's should never boost that high... Check your valve unit to make sure you took out ALL 3 Plastic Caps on the NC/NO/COM.
What mods do you ahve?

Viks, that's all stuff i found by searching. i've never red the manual, i've just learned by trial and error.

ProCarParts- thanks for contributing a better base for this guy! it funny how different the settings for a non-BB t25, BB t25, and BB t28 are.

Wait, did you say all three?? I took the caps out of the two i used, i didn't bother taking the cap out of the one that is not used, i figured it would leak if i did. Don't tell me that has been my problem, cause i'm going to feel pretty stupid if that's it.
BTW, thanks for the detailed info.

Yup thats it.

dunno about 12psi, but i am at the following:

set: 17%
Gain: 13
setgain: 2

and that holds 7-7.5 all day long...

have any of you had the issue w/ your warning going off prematurely? i have my warning set at 80(apsi) but it goes off like clockwork around 57... but it isnt a recurring thing... sometimes it happens, others it doesnt... and i know im not spiking cuz my mechanical gauge reads identical to my profec

setgain: - this tells the wg when to start to open so if you getting boost spike lower it to youre boost setting, or even lower, if you set this at 9psi and you runing stock boost it will spike to 9psi and then boost will lower to stock seating ;)

p.s
dyno pruven :D got charts if needed :p

You read my mind, since i figured out what was wrong with my profec yesterday, i played around with the settings today, and just like you said, sometimes the warning goes off and the peak boost will not even be close to what i set the warning to.
I think it's some kind of alarm, that it predicts you're about to spike because the wastegate closed or something, I know sometimes it does it and sometimes it wouldn't. The bad thing is, when it does my boost gets limited off back to stock.
Anyone know what the deal is with it?

Just wanted to update, if your warning goes off early, just switch between low and high, and back to what ever you were. And no more warning.
I think it's there to warn you that you are on Hi setting so you don't forget and jump in your car and boost to like 12psi that you had it set to last night.
After you click that HI/LO button twice it goes away.
