The production number is the last eight of the VIN. 
lol! Not anymore my friend. That was just one of Mazda's lies to get you to go out and buy one over the rest of the competition. The car is hardly limited and I don't believe they assigned production #'s anyhow. Resale and uniqueness went down the toilet when they decided to produce them for 2009-2010 and beyond.

Geez...get over it. There nothing rare about Miatas, but people who own them, love them. It's a great car and they have sold over 870,000 of them. If you want a rare car that holds retail, go get a Delorean. It's a piece of s*** that still retails at 30k.
It's not about "getting over" anything. Like I was saying earlier it's a matter of principle. Mazda lead a lot of people to believe that the car they were buying was going to be somewhat limited. What does that mean? Well, resale value would have most likely been higher (Yes I know its only a 25k car but even 1k-2k more as a trade is sort of nice) and for some the MS3's the proposed uniqueness factor was indeed an attraction. This all went down the toilet and people do have a right to be somewhat pissed about it rather you agree or not.
shoulda got an MSP if you wanted a "limited production" mazda, personaly i dont think mazda thought it would sell the way it did and well the MS3 kinda blew up i see them everywhere i go , so there going to keep making them as long as there is demand for them even if it pisses people off that it not "limited production"

What is with people trading in....F-That. You loose your ass on a trade-in people putting that negative equity on the new car loan...= Fail. I plan on keeping my car till it dies. It can do it all and i see no reason to part with it. I wasn't promised it was limited edition. Just because previous models of the mazdaspeed line up didn't sell well and mazda decided to cut it off with-in two years, doesn't make it a set-in stone law that mazda can only produce these cars for two years.
Your logic and reading comprehension has failed you. I didn't say it was “Set -in stone” nor imply that. Fact is Mazda did play it out like there was only be 5000 per the 07/08 yr. It was marketing tactic/ scam they used to sucker people into buying their product. Is potentially having a vehicle that isn't so common a decent selling point? Yes. Is it the only reason to buy a car? Hell no, but that doesn't change the fact that Mazda did sucker customers into thinking that the MS3 was going to be somewhat “rare” and those customers have every right to be somewhat disturbed/ pissed about it. Pretty much all the Car literature involving the MS3 stated that it was going to have a limited run. Where to you think they got that information? Mazda! And who reads those magazines? Mazda’s customers!

Don't bother even trying to reason with 15min5k. He's apparently the only person who's legitimately pissed off because of this and that in itself is laughable. He continues to think that Mazda had it in their scheming minds to screw out all current MS3 owners by saying the MS3 would be limited to two years. In fact, that was never stated by Mazda but was stated by salemen to increase sales and by "magazines" who were speculated just as much as we were. Just because all previous Mazdaspeed models had been limited to a year or two everyone assumed the same would be for the MS3. Mazda NEVER explicitely stated this so once the MS3s started selling like crazy you better believe they dragged it out for another year with the current model and that they're coming right out with a new one. The same would have happened with the MS6 if it had sold just as well. IIRC, the MS6s don't have production numbers either. Must be a Protege thing...

Nope, I'm an engineer; too much dignity to be a salesman. So you now admit Mazda didn't even mention this car was supposed to be a limited run - where's your argument now?! You have no reason to be angry other than the fact you're butt-hurt because Mazda might be releasing a faster version of the car you currently own.
