hey i had recently installed a cold air intake on my car (Injen) and after installing it i relized i was loosing power somewhere and somethign was nto right. I finally brought it to the dealer and was told that i was getting too much air for the intake and the fuel injectors were not pushing enough fuel to match my air ratio.. I have a 05 mazda 3 anyone know anything..?

I would first check the entire intake system for leaks. Also check to see the MAF sensor is seated properly and tightened.

The explanation the dealer gave sounds suspect to me. But if the MAF sensor is not seeing the proper voltage or not seated properly, that could cause major issues.

i did the same thing in my mazdaspeed3, i installed a different filterand made custom tubing to attach the sensor, i have pictures. after i installed the new filter, i would rev the car and it would go to low rpms and shake a bit then stabilize,( but stil under normal idle rpms) i thinkin it is because its leaking air because all the attachments i had to make. let me kno what u think and what i can do or buy for a simple upgrade like this.

Dealer BS. Injen's R&D won't make the 3 overboost, and the MAF sensor is there to know how much air is coming in for the injectors. Besides, all CAIs make the 3 run a tad leaner anyway.

You probably had a leak somewhere. Injen's a two piece, one of the pipes is probably not clamped right. Or your MAF might not be sitting flush. You were "loosing power somewhere"-- down low? CAIs tend to give the 3 a slightly lower low end power depending on pipe design, width, and length. Injen's total length might not make the TB suck in air at the same velocity as the stock box does.

If they tell you that you need a new MAF don't let them sell you one until you personally see that your MAF is physically damaged.
