problem with msp

yeah i checked the vac lines. all are connected and in the right place. but yeah even something stupid like a vac line can mess up everything. lol

How many washers are in your RFL bov? You do know that depending on the number of washers, that will determine at what boost level the bov will open at.. if you have no washers in, it's not going to open. If you have three in, it will open great at 10 psi. If you have four washers, that would be sufficient for stock boost to 8 psi.

well like my bov doesnt even work at all. like i have put from zero to 5 washers in and still nothing. i recently got a fmic kit from altered customs. does your bov flutter or a straight psht. cause i hear a flutter noise but its not coming from the bov. its coming back out the intake out the air filter.

I sell the FMIC kits, but I also run my own kit on my car and I have the same BOV as you too. The flutter you hear is your intake, could be your bov just barely opening, are you really getting into the boost when you release off the gas to hear the bov? Mine won't really make any noise unless I get on it into the higher boost. I'll hear a little psshh but it will only do the big whoopshhhh when I'm in higher boost.

You also mentioned your turbo is rebuilt. What type of turbo do you have? Depending on the size of the turbo, that will determine your boost as far as what psi is equal to the stock psi on a turbo other than stock.. hope that's not confusing.. just saying if your turbo is different than stock, your psi may be different. My GT28RS can boost at 5 psi and feel like 8 to 10 psi with the stock turbo.

yeah like when i shift high in boost it has a big psht and flutters right after. i think i might have a vacum hose not on right. since u sell the kits. i have a question. since i replaced my bpv with the blow off valve. the stock bpv was connected to some vac lines. on the stock plastic pipe there was a place where a vacuum hose connected from the top of the moter. since i replaced the plastic with the hard pipes i have no where for that hose to go. where do i put it? cause right now its just hangin there and cant figure out where to put it.

That may be your problem.. is the hose just sitting there, still attached to the top of the intake manifold but not attached to anything? That will cause a vacuum leak.. I would just take all the extra stuff off from where you had your bpv. From the BOV, you should have a vacuum line that can have it's own source from the intake manifold.

Also, the place that has the vacuum line that goes to the nipple on the right side of the valve cover (if you're standing in front of your car looking at it) can be taken off and a breather filter can be put there instead.

yeah my line from my manifold is connected but the line from my valve cover on the right side of the motor is just hangin there. is that bad? would it cause the problems im having?

(uhm) With the same type of internals?! Hmm... I always thought it wasn't possible to rebuild the stock turbo because it's a ball-bearing center housing rotating assembly? What was wrong with your turbo?

yeah i got my stock turbo rebuilt

I'd take off that line and put a breather filter on. It's not going to hurt anything.. but you may get some oil blowby inside there. It wouldn't be causing your problems though. Have you checked to make sure everything is tight, the couplers/clamps, etc? Just sounds like it can't build up pressure like it should.

yeah i gave my turbo to garret and they rebuilt the whole thing. i had to get it rebuilt because i blew the ceals. but im still getting oil in my pipes after getting in rebuilt. do u get oil in your pipes at all?

The only time that happened to me was when I didn't have one of my hotside pipes tight enough and it was disconnected. I got back home and there was oil all inside the hot side, on my bov, etc. Cleaned it up, made sure everything was tight, never had a problem since.

hey did you just ship it to garret? how much did it cost i say you should check your pipes maybe you need new clamps i know mine were just replaced cuz they were stripped from being under load for so long they just wear out

His clamps are brand new, t-bolt clamps. Mine were put on a looong time ago and I have yet for even one to wear out.

yeah i shipped it to garret. it cost a little over 700 for a full rebuild. they replace everything! except the housing of course. but they clean it and repaint it and everything. all u have to do is drop it in and its good to go. but i found out why i had all those problems. it turns out my bov is broken. it wont open. so i sent it in and im getting a new one since i had my warranty still. found out that it was broken from the start. brand new out of the box. but yeah everything should be running perfect once i get the new bov in the mail
