Problem starting replacement 1990 RX7 engine

My son's RX7 engine block (2 sections) failed. I purchased a used engine that was in a running car with only 2K since rebuild. It is a matching engine - non turbo. I have the engine in the car and it spins over. There is spark and fuel ( fuel pumping under pressure when lines disconnected.) Oil pressure is great (by the gauge), however the plugs do not appear to be wet even when cranked for a minute of more with the gas held down.

This is my first experience with a rotary and I need a little help. My son is a college freshman, coming home this weekend for Thanksgiving break. I would really like to have the car running.

I live in Richmond VA. Is there anyone that can help me out?

Double check all grounds. Do you have 12v at injectors?

Do you know how I can test them? Everything seems to work but I have never tested injectors before.
