Problem installing rear springs, bolt on sway bar

I am trying to install my lowering springs and i got everything off the strut is loose and ready to come out but there is one bolt attaching the strut with a welded piece facing the rear of the car attached to the sway bar. Its the endlink bolt that won't budge at all.

I can't get the bolt off. I read the directions in the how to section on spring install but it doesn't mention this bolt at all. Did anyone else have a problem removing the strut?

Thanks

You're not alone, pretty much everyone has had trouble getting off the end link bolts. First, soak the piss out of them with liquid wrench. Second, lock onto the endlink bolt behind the rubber boot with some needle nose vise grips and crank away with your 14mm wrench. Hopefully yours aren't bad enough that you just have to cut em off and get new ones.............

if it's the nut/bolt that connect the endlink to the tab on the strut, you need an alan wrench and a 10mm (i think) open ended wrench. Use the alan to hold the nut still while you used the open ended wrench to take the bolt off.

I had to do that when I put my TEINs on...

i couldnt get 2 of mine off when i did my springs so i just put the sprigns on inside the wheel wells and it worked fine that way

yeap. i had to replace ALL FOUR of my endlinks. This time i put anti sieze all over em!!!

I had the same problem with the endlinks when I put my springs on too. I just said screw it after trying for 2 hours and cut them off. Does anyone know if I can put the AWR endlinks on a stock sway bar or would that be too much force on the stock bar?

I am running AWR adjustable endlinks ,on stock bars ,no problems . helps the bars work better as the endlinks dont flex .

one word: gearratchet (ok, not sure on exact sp)

its a ratchet with a hole through the socket to let long bolts pass through. pop it on the endlink nut, place the allen wrench through the hole into the bolt, tighten/loosen away. I was able to move the dang nut using one hand, compared to not getting it to budge using just a regular wrench and allen. this way allows the two handles to line up and be grabbed like a pair of pliers. This enabled me to tighten one of the nuts that I practically rounded off with an impact wrench during an unsuccessful attempt at removal. the impact only managed to move it enought to allow the linkage to be a tad loose, but make a hell of alot of noise.

little pb blaster might help too (wd40 sure as hell didn't)
