I bring my MOMO seats to a speedshop to get them installed in the MP3 today. There is problem about the installations.
The width between the 2 brackets under the Stock seat is about 20 inches, the MOMO is about 15.5 inches. Also, the bolts under the seats is not a square, not even a trapeze.... It's like.
Front Left *------------ * Front right
Rear left *-------------------!!*Rear right
(The rear right one is not bolted at the bottom, it bolted at the side, which gives even more difficultes!).
Since the MOMO seats is much smaller than the Stock seats, it will give a lot free space and it has to be adjust correctly to the center to face the streering. Therefore, there is alot of work on the custom brackets.
Take out the stock brackets from the stock don't seems to work neither, we aren't sure how the brackets mounted to each other in the stock seats, there is also a lot of works to take out the bracket and solider form the stock seats.
The garage guy estimated about 3 hours of work for each seats!
6 hours for both!!
Anyone who changed their stock Proteges seats? (I dunno if all Proteges have the same size of seats).
Can you share your experience with me?
It looks so cool with the MOMO inside, but paying 6 hours of labour is like the price for a brand new seat! It's not gonna worth probably.
