probe 2.0 block opposed to mazda 2.0

i spun a rod bearing and i need a new block i couldnt find a protege block but i ran across a ford probe 2.0 4 cylinder engine for 350 bucks and i was told before that it is the same will i have any problems putting this in my protege will i need to change remove add anything at all?

What year probe And I don't think it will work cause those ones had a distributer. Wait are you useing just the block and your old head?

just the block not the head
 
same FS block.....but please do watch how many miles are on that used engine or you might be looking for a replacment for the replacement..lol

i would just use the short block and ask him to pull the head and roll the crank to see if the cylinders scored at all.
 
So the block and internals are the same!!! cool LOLOLOLOL My local juckyard has 6 MX-6/probes/626 and is running 50% off all parts. I checked on it And It will cost $10 for the old school intake manifold for my turbo swap and I can get the short blocks for $50 each!!!
 
I will see what I can do. I will probably sell some. but I need to see how many i can pull in a day. PM me and I'll get back to you on that
