The basic principal is that the P5 was a low production family car and therefore did not "qualify" in the marketing decisions for Mattel and others.

but yet the ford escort does qualify? i've seen about 30-40 hot wheel ford escorts...and they arent cossies neither.

Oh yea, I have all the files to make the P5. I have 3 of those Hot Wheels. One of which I repainted to match my Sunlight Silver P5. Much of the lines of the Audacious car does seem to match that of a P5, however the front bumper and rear lights don't match.

black roof, black latch cover, black rear valance, black/red hood, balck Autoexe grill, blacked out head lights, fog grill inserts, shaved moldings, JDM tails, black Rota Sub-Zero rims, black spoiler. I think that's it.

Went to toys r us and it brought back memories. I finally found the quasi-P5 model, but it was part of an $8 set so I opted to pass. Got a Ford Focus and a Nissan 350Z, though. I can't believe neither Matchbox nor Hot Wheels had any Mazdas. Hot Wheels are so fugly now. They don't seem to make any real cars anymore.

I did find a RX-7 all riced out from their Night something watever package. It had a R33 and the newer gen celica as well.
I just found out before I went to open it that my Audacious/P5 is a treasure hunt package!!!! @#!%$!@#$% now do I want a small diecast of my car that badly? or do I want to keep a full set of my hotwheels...
