Prince Valorum's 95 626 Build Thread

What are you talking about? That mileage is low for a 16 year old car, it's only 5,625/year. My 3 is 5 years old with 124k and thats 24,800/year.

I know, I just wanted someone to say that. :D

Nice build! Can't wait to see more.

Thanks!

Long overdue...

Oh hey!

Old and busted vs New hotness! Not bad for guessing on the length, eh?

I'm going to have to pick up two more bolts since it only included two. You're supposed to reuse your stock ones, but I had to cut mine, soooo...

Ordered more goodies off of ebay tonight..! teehee!

I hope so, cause I was like WTF is he talking about!

I started driving it with only 72k miles at the end of my junior year in HS, so I've put about 18k on it in 3.5 years. In my mind, 72k miles on a '95 is like "wow, that's low" and 90k is like "eh, decently low." Maybe it's just in how I perceive it.

I've had an eye out for some seats that would hold me in place better during spirited driving. I don't want something that screams RACE CAR though, ya know? I want to maintain the sleeper-ish appearance of my car. I decided to poke around tonight on the major brands' sites, and while there are lots of souper cool race car seats, this one keeps that OEM-ish style, while [hopefully] improving occupant holding in the corners. In grey cloth (matches my interior) it doesn't break the bank like some of the other offerings do, either.

Would you want to buy my Recaros? Maybe even the brackets bolt up. I want "race car" seats. ;)

I never posted the dyno plot my beastin' 2.0L threw down at Mid Ohio. I think I solidly secured the lowest dyno of the day, but my e-ego wasn't too bruised! :p

I was only hoping for 90whp, so I was actually pretty happy! Plus the huge cloud of burnt oil out the exhaust looked cool as heck when he let off! (rlaugh)

Highest bidder? No, I am sure Evan said that you were going to get them.

Good call. I feel the same way about the seats that I want to put in my PGT. RSX seats are nice, so are the newest gen Celica seats..I still have not decided where I wanna go with mine.

Updated first post with list of parts waiting to be installed/ordered, etc.

Got some work done the other day with the sway bar bushing brackets. I'll put pics up later.

I was talking to my buddy Evan (Lewis7789) yesterday, and he asked me why I was bothering to do two swaps/builds, whatever. He said if he could do his again, he would have just gone all out and done MegaSquirt the first time. It's not really that much fun to do, so why have to do it twice? I need to research how feasible it would be to break a motor in on MegaSquirt, or whether or not I could actually use an OEM ecu or even a chipped one (like Xtremethings, Probinator, etc).
