China is ten years off. They are definately moving ahead with their plans for a Navy though. There is no Navy in the world that comes even close to the U.S. And they have all those people. I have a feeling we will have a war with China while I am still in the military, and if I wasn't I would come back to serve in it. We can only blame ourselves for allowing China to own so many U.S. govornment bonds. When I watch the Senate on CSPAN there are a few of them who see what is happing and try to pass legislation to stop the trade imbalance, but it is always shot down by the corporation favoring Senate members.

Oh, and your unpatriotic attitude makes me sick. I really don't like to see our country run the way it is now, but that doesn't stop me from knowing that this is the best country in the world. I will do everything possible to make sure my kids grow up in a country as prosperous as the one I did, but the huge falloff in education and the poor govornment is going to cause this country a big recession within the next 30 years. I, for one, will do everything I can by voting and serving to make sure that doesn't happen.

I appreciate your attitude. way better than mathews. I for one would love for this country to do a complete 180 and make a turn for the better. But if people continue to do so again and again like they did by voting for our current president twice, I really see no way out.
Also, you see I am patriotic, but to MY country. Granted, Portugal has lots of faults in Politics and curroption but is in better shape, so to speak, than the U.S gov't.

lol both our attitudes are the same, or did you miss that? you make us sick. if youre so patriotic to YOUR country, why the hell is it taking you so long to vacate OUR country? i love how you are appreciative of someone who just said you make them sick lmfao.

have fun whining in portugal about how the govt sucks.

LISBON -- <!-- START LEAD -->At last month's NATO summit in Prague, after each head of government had delivered a brief speech, an embarrassing oversight was discovered: They'd forgotten Portugal.

Prime Minister Jose Durao Barroso took the gaffe in good spirits and got to make his speech, but many Portuguese were reminded of a warning that Durao Barroso himself had delivered when he took office this year: "Portugal is in danger of becoming irrelevant, much like some jackass named vindication on the mazda forums"

You think the European Union is something to mess with?? America might be #1 Country in military(china very very close), a bunch of unified countries will do wonders

lol

yea whatever man. the EU is not impressive. they are the mainly a bunch of liberal john kerries and jane fondas united to try to improve staggering economies and provide some sort of union over there. you think all the sudden france et al are going to adopt their pre-emptive surrender policies?

as for china, even the BBC isnt impressed:

I really feel sorry for you Matthew. yes, doing a 2 min search on Portugaland then posting a link on what is written about them from the righty American .gov site shows all that is Portugal. OK, those those that read things about America should have even less respect for this country. I thought you were smarter but I gave you too much credit.
Ohh and for forgetting about Portugal, good. I hope so, leave us alone.

And on me leaving sooner than later. I sure as hell want too but dont have the actual means to at this moment. But dont you worry, the sooner I get away from you and your shoes the better.

Korea is a serious threat, but Iran comes next.

We could take North Korea out in a week. I say that because it is fairly small and we have no interest in their land like we do in Iraq. We wouldn't have to be as careful with our bombing. We wouldn't have to make friends either, we have them, they are the South Koreans.

It sounds messed up, but I believe it to be true. We would suffer very heavy losses in S. Korea and probably Japan. (This is if China didn't step in. They would be fools to fight against us though.)

North Korea has a large army yes, and they are decently (and that's generous) equipped. They have an broken down air-force and a non-capable Navy (relative to us). It all comes down to money. They can't afford to maintain the operational readiness of their military like we can. Why do we have the best military? Because we have a lot of money and resources, and we work with the best equipment and we train, train and train more. North Korea can't afford the fuel it takes to fly practice missions with their jets (which are outdated Chinese migs if I remember correctly). Why do you think our soldiers shoot better than the Iraqis? Because they train. The main concern I have is with us losing that financial edge that we have (which is why our military and our country's economic situation is linked). I think the Bush administration has put our country's economic future at risk, which is why we need bipartisan work to fix it.

As for vindication, I do not agree with your assessment of the United States. I lived in another country for three years (Japan), and I think people should experience living with a different culture. I just think you group America into this glob, when it actually has the most diverse group of people in the world. You point to the election of Bush, 58 million people voted for him. You don't see that 55 million voted for Kerry, who actually wasn't that strong of personality that usually draws votes. My opinion is that if someone like McCain would have run against Bush he would have wiped him clean across the country (too bad they are both Republican and Bush automatically had the nomination). I still can't believe Bush beat McCain in the 2000 primaries, but that's the work of his hired slimeball Karl Rove.

You say me and Matthew are different, and I'm sure we would both agree. That's why makes our military great is for every 10 matthews there are 10 me, and the diversity is huge. The common thing that binds us together is that we will fight and die for the country even though we may not agree with the politics. Why, you may ask. I fight for the constitution. That document is the thing that sets us apart from everyone else. Though we may go through good and bad politics, our constitution is the glue that keeps us together.

You got to be kidding me! Portugal is in such deep s*** along with half the other small Europe countries its almost funny. You think you going to be free there, yea right. Youre talking about a country that you havent lived in for 19+yrs, and when you did live there you were 3. You dont even know what its like to actually live there. You know what, answer me this. When Bush was running for President we had all of these VERY RICH people saying that if he won they would leave the country. Why do you think they didnt leave? The grass always looks greener on the other side. These are people that actually come from other countries that have the money to leave at anytime. Yet they stay, why is that. Is it may be because of the money, the freedom the do and say what you want? Or is it because here you have 100 times more opportunities and freedoms then other countries. I cant wait until you get to your HOME country, youll see why none of the people that could leave left. And why did your family move here in the first place? Are they going with you? If not why? If its so good I would think they (mom and dad) would want to go back to their home country.

I hate the fact that people like you are so unloyal to the country that has brought you up and given you the opportunity to even have the chance to leave. All of these people crying about Bush need to suck it up. He was voted in by the majority. If you dont like it impeach him. But no they sit there pissing and moaning about it instead. Thats why Bush won. It wasnt because people liked him; they just didnt want a pussy in our office representing the USA. And hell yea we are arrogant. All ways have been and always will. But what you call arrogant we call pride! And this might seem a little personal and I dont have a beef with you except on this. But youll never have pride in any country you go to. Youll get there and in a VERY short time realize your mistake and then b**** about it like you do here. You were raised with the best things life has to offer (no I dont mean things like closes). Things that other people kill for. There are millions and millions of people wanting to come here; more so then any other country in the world, and when you have that, there will always be some kind of trouble. I think of it as the spoiled kid syndrome. And instead of trying to make it better youll just pack up your things and leave. Well you should, real Americans dont give up, we push on and we fight to try and make it right. But you want to leave.

Oh and on the topic of Europe nations which country just fired their government. That's like the 3rd Europe country to do so in just a few yrs. They suck and are sissies.

Portugal not free?? ok Hughes, you keep smokin that rock. And yes there is corruption in Portuguse gov't just like all gov'ts. But Portugal can easily turn around. And as for me not knowing anything about Portugal, you have got to be kidding me. You think I just look at a books cover and come to a conclusion?

I'm done with this thread. I dont know why I join political debates anyway. People just get worked up and it's not worth it. Lets all go have a beer and some fun in the rep thread:D
