Powered Liftgate

Ok i have tried doing some searching and can't find my answer.

Is there a way to have the gate open with using the button in the back of the 9? It will open from the inside via power and from the keypad. When I hit the lever in the back it just pops open doesn't open with motor also using the soft button it just unlocks the doors doesn't open the gate. Is there another way?

ty in advance!!!

Would it really be that useful if you could activate the power liftgate to open by pressing the button up above the license plate? You'd still be standing around for 15-20 seconds waiting for it to open and possibly jumping out of the way so it doesn't smack you! =)

What drives me insane is that you must first unlock the vehicle using the fob (unlock all doors) and then press and HOLD the liftgate button to have it open automatically!!! If I press and HOLD the liftgate OPEN button on the fob, isn't it implied that I want the freakin' doors unlocked???

You are so, right. By the time I get all the buttons pressed, I'm at the car waiting for the liftgate to open completely.

Maybe we could get one of those HELPER MONKEYS they show on tv commercials and have it push the liftgate open from inside for us? We could text him or something....

Of course, he would also eat and/or shred the leather seats, rip every knob and button off the dashboard and then put it in gear and drive us into a ravine....

There are a few bugs to work out, it's only a potential idea for a solution...and you know once he saw that it would go up and down automatically, he'd spend all day riding it up and down and up and down, only taking breaks to poop in his hand and fling it at us and to touch himself inappropriately as the mood hits...sounds like my nephew, now that I think about it!

LOL! Hilarious! He could also complement the anti-theft system or cover us when the road ragers take it to the next level.

I've dealt with trying to get Mazda to properly cover an expensive Warranty claim before....I know they wouldn't warranty that pesky little primate!

FYI, the warranty issue was on my 2006 Mazda3 and not my 2012 CX-9. At 49,200 miles (800 miles away from warranty expiration), it 'spun a bearing' (a connecting rod failed and caused "catastrophic engine failure") and they tried to get away with not covering a new engine under warranty!!! Even with all of my oil change receipts proving that I always changed it ever 7500 miles or sooner, they still tried to stiff me....they wanted proof of what brand of oil and oil filter were used, which my local mechanic told them each of the FOUR times they called to question him...but he didn't have documentation of what brand they were. And it was irrelevant because the Owner's Manual doesn't specify any particular brand to be used!

I finally had to get "ugly" as my grandmother used to say....I raised hell until they ordered me a whole new engine and put me in a loaner for the three weeks it would take to get it,...and they did,.....

I wouldn't have bought the CX-9 if they hadn't finally done the right thing and paid for the repairs! But they did and I love my CX-9! Now I'm eyeing that beautiful new sweetheart called the 2014 Mazda6...what a looker!
