Power outlet is not auto off in GT

So, i just picked up my 3 GT fully opt and realize a problem on the poweroutlet. I have a dash camera stick beside my autodimming mirror and already wire to the storage bin and connected to the ONLY outlet. BUT here is the problem. that is the only outlet and it will never turn off (isnt the car accessories will turn off if the car shut down? . I ve been waiting for 3 hours and the dash cam is still on. So, how can I find a outlet that can power my 5v dash camera??? should I just tap in the autodimming mirror? Is the mirror has the same voltage? and Do u have the wiring for the mirror? need help!!!!!!!

My outlet will turn off as soon as switch the car off.
I also have a dash cam in the same position, and my camera has an option to stay on and recording until the battery runs out. Check your camera option.

Do the test, instead of turning the car off, just remove the camera from the socket and see if it continues to film or if it s**** down as soon as you unplug it from the 12v outlet.(dont unplug right off the camera, just the the car socket)

yep I looked at the manual and it says that the outlet in the GT (with sd slot and 2 usb) will not turn off after 30 mins (or as soon as car shut). I tested by leaving out the car (from 10pm to 2am) but the camera and it is still on. My camera can detect the power supply. It stays recording if there's a power and auto shutdown if there's no power. Quite disappointed that it only have one single outlet even for the top trim level and it is not auto off...

luckily, I work around and found a solution. because mostly dash cam use 5v 1amp for power input. What I have done is to use one of the USB port to power it (connect to USB HUB doesnt work, not powerful enough). The wire is long so resistance is high but will have just enough juice to keep it recording. I did a research on the internet that we can cut down the white and green wire from the USB and just connect the power line (red and black/blue lines). one down side is that I have to sacrifice one USB port. also u need to find a thicker USB line so it allows more power to go through it. Now, my dash cam will start record as long as the car start and stop when it shut.

That's so weird. As soon as I turn off my car, the dash cam beeps to let me know it's running on battery.
