You obviously haven't read the few threads where these cars pop 100% stock have you? Chances are yours wont but some have.

Go ahead and turn up the boost, it just puts more money in the pockets of people like me that replace these motors for you guys. Be smart about it unless you have plenty of money to give to the guy that repairs the damage. It costs an average of $1500 + to repair the damage of a blown motor. That's if you don't take out the turbo with the block. Oh and the oil return girdles are $450 by itself.

Yeah I hear these things and it freaks me out...makes me just want to get rid of the car but it seems to be okay and it been at 10psi for a while

low on oil?

lol, nope
stupid me didn't wait for Microtech to send me back my standalone and I ran it at 10psi on the stock tune...hit MASSIVE predetonation a few times and suddenly I hear -knock knock knock knock knock- and thought '****!' lol

note to anyone building a motor:
do NOT cut corners! they WILL bite you in the ass on the msp >.<

I will say that if you keep the oil fresh and the boost low it may last for ever. I change my oil before 2k miles and I beat the living hell out of the motor every chance I get. I knock on the rev limiter every shift, I have not had an air filter on the car for about 20k miles and running it at 10-13psi on a stock tune right now. I can't get it to die! (uhm) I don't get what it is but mine wont die. I killed the coils on it right now but as soon as I start driving it again I'm not going to change the oil and see if it'll die.

No filter and it wont die... and here all these people are being extra carefull and they don't last. I have to say it's the maintenance that the motor received up until that point that I went with the huge turbo and always having clean oil.

Oh yeah and I haven't had fans on it in a while. The only time it did start to have a heating issue was when I drove it through the grapevine in the summer for mazdafest. But as soon as I got over the grade it cooled down and drove fine.

It's not that I have a lot of money, I have been planning to go big for a long time. I can't get over it to replace a good working motor so I decided to wait it out. But for some odd reason it wont blow, as I see all these close to stock MSP's blow up around me. I don't get why but like I said I always over maintenained it before.

I was just giving you a hard time thats all. Does that CEL that you have annoy the crap out of you?

no filter = fail

I know it should but hasn't yet. I keep saying I don't get it. I drive the car through anything, rain, summer, dust storms, the only thing that scares me is plastic bags. I'm scared to get a bag stuck to my exhaust.
