Post a pic of yourself.

My face was mauled by a pit, he wasnt a drug guarding or mistreated dog, just snapped and atempted to eat my face. i was bit at 4 and im 21 and sill have a very noticable scar. I love dogs but I must admit I am un easy around pits.

Again, bad breeding. Any inbred dog from a disreputable breeder could do that. It just is more likely to end up in serious damage when it is a powerful breed. Some inbred chihuahua snaps and rips out your achilles tendon. A bad pit or rotty loses it and bye-bye throat.
You never know why a dog will bite. I was bitten at about 12 years of age by a mutt that walked up to me and wanted to be petted. I leaned over and it jumped up and bit my left thigh (good thing I'm a "rightie"). Turned out the year before some b**** ran it over, got out of her car all pissed off about her schedule getting thrown off by the dog and proceeded to beat it. From then on pretty much whenever somebody towered over the dog and reached down at it, it fear bit them. Would have been nice to be told that earlier...

moral of the story: don't pet strange dogs

When did the "Post a pic of yourself" turn into a "Post a pic of your pet" thread? lol

We already had both threads going elsewhere on the boards

ok, with all the puppy pics. i guess i will show off my kitties. the one on the right is just your typical domestic cat. it's a girl named Skittles, she is the cute one. the beast on the left, thats my boy. he is an exotic breed called a highland lynx. he is huge ! he weighs about 20lbs. and is solid as a rock. he is totally tame and mellow, he just looks like a beast. his paws are massive too. each of his feet have 6 toes, except one has 7 !! he also has a stump for a tail and bushy fur in his ears and toes, that is because he is part bobcat.

That is a monster cat. I want one.

I prefer dogs, but I like big cats that think they're dogs too. My uncle had a black cat that was so solid that when people saw it for the first time he would tell them it wasn't a house cat but a black leopard cub.
My sister-in-law has a Maine Coon that is already 18 pounds and the vet says it is still growing! When he meets people for the first time he runs right up to them and demands to be petted. Doesn't even pretend to be shy. He's like, "hey, that hand isn't doing anything. I've got an itch. Get to work."

the cat is cool. he like to take walks on a leash with me. people look at me like i'm crazy. he gets a lot of attention. every now and then i take him to petsmart with me, and he ends up having a croud of people around us.

The dog was my uncles. He had bitten once before but thats cause my cousin pulled his tail when she was younger. After that everyone watched him, he never did it again. That dog and I got along great I still remember him and honestly I didnt want them to put him down. Just one day he snapped. I know everyone thinks its all about the treatment of the animals and such but i never did anything to that dog and he was verywell cared for. Sometimes IT HAPPENS and unfortunately pits have a tendency to snap more than other dogs. Pits are known to be an agressive breed, but some are just good dogs however breeding or not some will snap and bite. (my uncles dog was pure bred so inbreeding is not the issue)

ook this thread has been fun, but how bout we bring it back at least close to the topic at hand? pics of YOU, not pics of pets (pics of you WITH blinged out cats is just fine lol)

I think I said something very similar back to him, but I didn't know the eye part's name it was bouncing off of.

I haven't read your pm yet, but after I saw your post, I went looking, and learned something new (twice in one day!). I hadn't made the connection that the odd colors are only in pets, not people (pets that think they are human don't count). It turns out that pet eyes are different enough from human eyes that they reflect the green light back (or white, depending) instead of red. I never noticed the effect until I had digital cameras, so I made a false assumption.
