Biggest issue with Pits is because there are so many "back alley breeders" trying to make a quick buck raising fighters with no concern for the overall quality of the breed. I have known a few people who swear by Pits that are purchased from reputable breeders where you can go meet the parents.
You Boxer fans will love this cross breed that I met this weekend at a Petsmart. He was a cross between a Boxer and a Great Dane. Picture a huge, long legged brindle Boxer. He was a big sweetie too. Came right over to me so I could pet him (after asking the owner's permission of course).

Was it a bull mastiff dog?They can get very big and they are very cute..THe one in the picture is still growing.Or did the owner tell you he was a great dane mix?

I talked to the owner. I've seen Bull Mastiffs before. They are actually have a build that is more squat than this dog. The standard Mastiff is the tall one.
I almost got one a few years ago and found out that the one I met is actually the exception to the rule. They are not a good dog for a couch potato. They are great dogs, but they need to have a job, which means you need to get off your butt and do something with them.
we have an english mastiff, hes incredibly lazy, so maybe hes the exception to that rule? haha
also, he outweighs a lot of you ppl on here, he's just over a year old and already 150lbs +

I don't know so much about the standard Mastiff, I only researched the Bull variety after I met one that an electrician brought with him on his jobs. He was lying in the shade of the guy's truck. There is one guy who has no disappearing tool problem.
I totally don't agree with that. I know plenty of perfectly happy go lucky pit's. They just catch s*** because assholes train them to fight and guard drug houses.

That is how it happens,People say there dog wont hurt a fly then it snaps and attacks its owners or anyone that is near it.
ok, with all the puppy pics. i guess i will show off my kitties. the one on the right is just your typical domestic cat. it's a girl named Skittles, she is the cute one. the beast on the left, thats my boy. he is an exotic breed called a highland lynx. he is huge ! he weighs about 20lbs. and is solid as a rock. he is totally tame and mellow, he just looks like a beast. his paws are massive too. each of his feet have 6 toes, except one has 7 !! he also has a stump for a tail and bushy fur in his ears and toes, that is because he is part bobcat.
