Possible to make 5 x 100 17" wheels with 235/45/17 tread work?

Im currently a VW 1.8t owner. Within the following week i hope to find a nice MP5.

Ive searched and read alot on the site but i cannot locate what the lug pattern is. I know its 5 x ??? but dont know the last set of numbers.

I also know that is the car is 5 x 112 or 5 x 114 i should be able to locate some adaptors to go from 5 x 100 = 5 x 112 or 114.

Ive read a little about the tire selection available for our cars and it seems my 235/ are a WEEEEEE bit too wide to work. Do i have any other options?

it is 5 x 114.3 but those tires wont fit no matter what i dont think. some one can correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure no offset will allow that wide of a tire.

unless you were to jack the car WAY up and make it look like some sort of SUV....there is no way you can stuff a 235 in there...it would have to hang WAY outside of the fenders both front and back....the widest tire you can sport totally stuffed under the fenders with NO rubbing and NO additional body work is a 215.

and whatever you do...do NOT use adapters to attempt to get wheels not made for our cars to fit....you are just asking for trouble there.

vw is 5x114.3 .. mazda is 5x114.3
so the wheels will fit as long as the offset is high enough.
(if they are real Kosei, nice wheels by the way ;) )

but you will need new tires for sure.

VW is NOT 5 x 114.3, they're either 5 x 100 or 4 x 100 depending on year and model.

Or 5x112 also. Passat. lol.

Anways. They will not work no matter what. Spacers will only make them stick out like you should have wire wheels. And any drilling will totally screw the rims integrity up. Only possible on certain wheels.

Finally that tire size won't even fit under the stock spring perch. IT's radius is too large. Hope that helps.
