whoop-dee-doo. now throw a supercharger on the gto and see what happens. =)

Exactly. Let em race stock for stock or similar mods and see what happens. Te funny thing is You can get a GTO for just about the same cash as you would pay for an S2000 and the GTO bests the S200 in everything except handling.

Niceer interior, much more power, more liveable. Throw a supercharger on that GTO and the S2000 would dissapear so fast, it would make your head spin.

that was a great shot of the door handle as the s2 passes him.. i love the cinematography.

but the s2k is a pure roadster. engineered from ground up. you don't find that kind of thoroughbred nowadays. i would still rock the s2k

I appreciate the S2k for what it is but no way I take one over a GTO sorry. I mean it would be tempting for the convertible aspect but the GTO is just more appealing to me overall.

ahh just brings me further to my goal of purchasing a GTO I'm going to test drive a few this friday after my interview.. more then likely I will be purchasing one when I go back stock

Two cars with two different intended purposes. The race was entertaining but does nothing to validate or discredit either.

I guess you're right but I hate Modded vs Unmodded races. Whats the point? I mean I guess it can be a good measure of a stock cars performance but still, its a foregone conclusion.

Gto cheated. And got beat bad from a roll. S2000 driver probably sucks at launching. He beat him really bad from a roll.

The venue is also a big decider. Stock for stock I suspect the S2000 would be able to hold a higher corner speed where as the GTO would enter corners a touch more gingerly and rely on ass whoopin HP/TRQ to make up that time on exit. Would the S2000 supercharged do better? I don't know how much the extra ponies would upset the chassis if at all.

If you have enough corners that the GTO has to tip toe through, the S2000 would gain ground. Vice versa, and the S2000 would be at a loss.
All of this is hypothetical. I've never driven either car.

Personally, I'd opt for the newer GTO with the 6.0. Call it lazy American syndrome but I want to stomp gas and GO! If I want to rev the s*** out of something and play the shifting game, I'll hop on my bike. I may get out cornered by either car, but I can ride a wheelie longer than they can. (flash)

Yeah, it would be nicer if the GTO had some bolt ons. If the driver of the S2K could launch better, it would be a better race.
