Pontiac GTO vs Supercharged Honda S2000

The venue is also a big decider. Stock for stock I suspect the S2000 would be able to hold a higher corner speed where as the GTO would enter corners a touch more gingerly and rely on ass whoopin HP/TRQ to make up that time on exit. Would the S2000 supercharged do better? I don't know how much the extra ponies would upset the chassis if at all.

If you have enough corners that the GTO has to tip toe through, the S2000 would gain ground. Vice versa, and the S2000 would be at a loss.
All of this is hypothetical. I've never driven either car.

Personally, I'd opt for the newer GTO with the 6.0. Call it lazy American syndrome but I want to stomp gas and GO! If I want to rev the s*** out of something and play the shifting game, I'll hop on my bike. I may get out cornered by either car, but I can ride a wheelie longer than they can. (flash)

Yes the S2000 would dominate the GTO at the track unless the track favors high power over nimble handling. But day to day, I'd much rather live with the goat.

Notice how I didn't unsub? I'm such a liar..

I could, yes. BUT I would end up paying $52k for a $23k car in the end. Doesn't sound too smart. Although, now that $52k would be at like $36k due to some new finances but it still doesn't seem worth it.

If I cant find a MS3 for a good deal, I am leaning more towards one of these!!

TB SS>GTO

I Like fast SUVS. Sure they are gas guzzling, top heavy, useless off-road, and pretty much completely pointless. But for some reason I can't help but smile when I see a Cherokee SRT-8 run a 10 second quarter mile. Silly stupid pointless AWESOMENESS!!!

The Lure of the LS2 is strong. It calls to you. It beckons. Smoke my tires K-lea, unleash the inner torque monster! But don't do it if it will put you in financial ruin.

Yes sir, I agree, and I do like the GTO's too, just saying I would buy a TB SS over a GTO that way I can haul my family and be fast :)

but the s2k is a pure roadster. engineered from ground up. you don't find that kind of thoroughbred nowadays. i would still rock the s2k
+1

Two cars with two different intended purposes. The race was entertaining but does nothing to validate or discredit either.

Great point....and if the guy in the GTO wasn't so eager to get ahead before he even honks the horn, cuz he knew that was his only chance, maybe it would have been worthy of a video??

how do you find a gto more appealing than an s2k? the gto remidns of me the mustang...everyone has one and thinks they are supper duper fast.

And why does everyone b**** whenever an import wins and it's modified?!? When did that become "wrong"? People actually LIKE tuning soemtimes you know....I could care less what the car does "stock" if I know i can tune it to do much better...it's not like that gto guy did'nt have modifications too anyways..ex. exhaust for one. with a supercharger i dont see how that s2k lost so bad everyitme either since he was walking the gto so badly from a roll. bad driver?

eh, for every GTO I see on the road I see at least 15-20 mustangs. Personally I don't like the s2k, I'd take the hp and looks over the convertible.

1. GTO's are FAR rarer than stangs

2. GTO's (esp the 6.0L ones) and for that matter mustangs ARE fast.

3. I think its more like everyone who owns an S2000 thinks it super duper fast.

But really the S2k is a nice ride but the only thing I like about the S2k is the fact that its a roadster.
