If you have enough corners that the GTO has to tip toe through, the S2000 would gain ground. Vice versa, and the S2000 would be at a loss.
All of this is hypothetical. I've never driven either car.
Personally, I'd opt for the newer GTO with the 6.0. Call it lazy American syndrome but I want to stomp gas and GO! If I want to rev the s*** out of something and play the shifting game, I'll hop on my bike. I may get out cornered by either car, but I can ride a wheelie longer than they can. (flash)
Yes the S2000 would dominate the GTO at the track unless the track favors high power over nimble handling. But day to day, I'd much rather live with the goat.
