hey yeah I'm interested in the goings on in this thread, just wanna make sure I know when what happens, heh.

Hey on the (2) 5.6" in seat screens, did you install yourself? I can figure everything out like running wires and what not, except how you worked the headreast fabric into the border.

ALso. as for the PS2, do you have a DC - AC converter to run power, and where do you hide all this, the ps2...the converter...?

my buddy did the tv's..what he did was cut some foam out of the headrest until the tv housing would fit flush in the headrest..except for the lip around the outside of the bracket..then he just strectched th fabric up around the bracket and used some 3M spray adhesive to make the fabrick stick to the bracket..took him about 30-40 min per tv to do..also i do have a little AC-DC converter under the driver seat..i paid like 45 bucks for it and instead of using the lighter plug in it I hard wired it to the ignition and put it on a switch so i can turn off the tv's if i want to...pretty simple wiring stuff.

same way you hook up a car amplifier, run a power wire to it from somewhere (maybe battery, or cigarette lighter) and that's it. Might wanna hook it up inline with something that is only on when your car is, otherwise you could leave the converter on forever and sap energy from the battery.

And about the cheap motorized screen. For 300 bucks you can't beat that. if it last a year then break it is well worth it. For my TV i spent $1400 USD. yeah it's a lot but i say you get what you paid for. if any one has questions feal free to PM me

i am REALLY interested in this 300 dollar motorized LCD

i could get TWO of them and have them break and get TWO MORE and still have spent less than the one kenwood I was thinking of. I wish we knew someone who had tried them...

man, those pictures are not too clear..................but, the whole set up is sweet - that is the same in-dash I was going to buy, I would love to keep everything Kenwood, but winter tires are more important now.....I actually won that same monitor off of Ebay and the winning bid was only $400 - I told the person I wanted some other method of paying for some type of security- he wanted me to wire the money to him and i said no way - COD or PAY PAL!
For like a week him and I emailed each other trying to come to a agreement - I was begging him to sell this to me - That is a $1000.00 savings He would not budge and I was not about to take a $400.00 risk -
Did you do your install yourself? How is the quality?

YEA..EGAY SUCKS..THERE IS A GUY ON THERE SELLING THAT KENWOOD FOR AROUND 800..AND HE SEEMS TO HAVE A PRETTY HIGH SELLER RATING..IF I WENT THAT WAY IT WOULD HAVE TO BE FROM A REPUTABLE SELLER W/GOOD FEEDBACK.

It seem like the guy is good. has a good feed back. so i say go for it. but it's only 400 bucks cheaper. if it breaks kenwood will not fix it. so it's your choice.

yeah but what is you buy it today and install it and 3 months down the line the thing break and the warranty doesn't cover it b/c it was bought second hand and you have to pay to have it fixed. Is saving that 400USD really worth it? that is the questions you have to answer. are you willing to risk it? i didn't want to so i bought it brand new.

eh...prob worth it to just try the 7" here in the thread...for that price its worth a try...they also have a DVD/CD/SVCD/MP3/ETC PLAYER FOR $230...thats a DVD and TV for under 500..that is well worth a try...plus the tv has tilt viewing agles which only a few of the high dollar tvs have.

Just so everyone knows this is NOT a motorized monitor, it does have diffrent tilt angles and is supposed to be a high quality screen though, I'm gonna go for it - I wont be 100% "proud" of my set up because there are nicer things out there and I so wanted to keep the whole car Kenwood, but if this is a good quality monitor than you can't go wrong with the price.......I want two monitors in the headrest too....anyone with info on a phatt set up for that let me know please........

I agree..no pro..ask anytime..i know jack about engine mods and such so i just comment on the entertainment part..hehe..anyway, i think me and a freind of mine are both going to get that tv as well..in a way..motorized tvs have more moving parts..more chance of breaking..i kind of prefer a non-motorized one..also if you look here....

they have and in-dash multimedia player as well..plays DVD/CD/VCD/SVCD/MP3...everything..plus i read the specs and it will display track info for the cd's and mp3 on any tv that is hooked up to it...best part is its cheaper than this tv!?!?..only thing is the quality..i was also looking at this one.....

which i have found for about 250-275 as well..i think it looks nicer than the first one too..but i dont know if it will show MP3 info on a tv or not...anyway to conclude..I am DEFINATELY gonna get that tv..but i am still trying to decide on which medai player to get...which one do you guys like?

I like 2nd one better - But that is mostly because of the looks of it.

I'm so glad that I'm part of this site, if I did not hear the opinions and views of my fellow MP3 and Mp5 owners I may have never even thought about buying this monitor or i would have put if off until whenever! I'm glad that i could bring it to the attention of you guys, now I'm getting it, and some others may too. Sharing the tips......... that's the name of the game!

yah.. im diggin on the style of the second one too... but i kinda like the features that the first one has.. i absolutely LOVE to have names scrolling... thats a big part of why i like the z919... cuz you can set names.. and it reads the ID tags on the mp3 files...

but i would definitely go w/ the first one if it were me... but hmm.. having a faceplate that you dont truly like sitting there.. all the time... every time your in your car... could get kind of umm... not cool i guess....

sorry man.. cant really give you a definitive answer on that one
