Please help....Mobile video....

best place is either glove box (wont fit though.. WAY too big...) or underneath the passenger seat with the face of the PS2 facing out backward (back of the seat)... that way you just reach your right hand down and press the eject button, pop in a new disc, and go at it... only thing is.. if you tend to have more than yourself and two other ppl in the car... someone is gonna sit there... and i've come to the conclusion that no matter how close of a friend a person is.. or how much they respect your car.. THEY ARE STILL GOING TO KICK SOMETHING OR HIT SOMETHING OR DROP A CIGARETTE OR SOMETHING!@!@!@#!@#!@# ... so DO NOT let anyone sit in the rear seat on the passenger side... it seems that for some reason whenever someone is in that seat w/ the dvd player in front of them they forget that they have feet and their feet end up kicking something and either ejecting the disc, pushing some other button, or even cracking something!!

my PS2 is more mobil than just being part of a mobile video setup :) lol... I dont have the PS2 mounted.. I have the DVD player mounted and it has 3 lovely little RCA inputs and i have a power inverter so I have outlets in the car... so when im in the car i put the ps2 on the back seat, plug it in and play... when im at home, i grab it off the seat, take it inside, plug it in and play... (i cant go for more than a couple hours without GT3)

ok so which monitor did you actually go with, and how much did it wind up costing? I am starting to plan an in-car computer project and it will be quite useless without a screen...I found a bunch witha lil stand that I could put on top of my dash..but it would just be in the way...My best solution is in dash....oh yea, btw...PICS PICS PICS!!! :-P

Hey MP3-TV!!

How have you been? As you can see, I finally received that monitor. Picture quality is great.....easy install......good price......

Downsides are.........limited quantity......and well, that's about it. I know you dont care about the aluminum finish.....but you most likely take care of that right.....This monitor is not the $1500.00 Kenwood one that I wanted but, I must say it is not bad at all, I am very impressed with it and it's a great value......

So you like the TV overall? Does it seem like a sturdy unit when you pull it out or put it back in?
This TV really does seem like a great solution for me....

overall yes, not as fancy as a name brand motorized one but it seems very sturdy, I have not had it in for long though.....probobly not built as well, but the screen quality is great........

Great Great Great
im glad to hear it. how can you plug more screens up? im thinking about doing this. my Psone is getting a little out dated lol :D and what size power inverter did you use? where is the wire for the ignition???

as you can tell, im the opposite of you guys. i can istall an intake quicker than i can pronounce it but im pretty confused about wiring

To hook more than one screen up you will need a video splitter.
I believe MP3-TV is running one now for his headrest monitors.....He too is looking into getting a in-dash monitor.......I just purchased a 300 watt max power inverter..........this inverter has a continuous flow of something like 180 watts, but max is like 300 watts - the model I have will beep 3 times if there is too much power demand and auto shut off, that way no fuses will blow and there will be no overheating.......you have the option to run it directly to a 12v source or use you lighter socket. You can tap the 12v ignition wire from behind the HU - (that is just one source, its the same wire that is used for the socket)

HERE IS THE A/V SPLITTER I JUST BOUGHT

http://www.discountave.net/avpowacfrean.html

for now I am just using an rca splitter for my 2 headrest tv's...also i got my dual zone to work finally on the headunit (818)...that is sweet...my kid was watching a movie in the back and i still could listen to the football game up front..it splits the audio to the fron and rear speakers..very nice

Hey do you guys think that you can mount this thing in the car? I don't know much about mounting it but I would rather have this than one in the dash. I find that box pretty handy right there and don't want to lose it.

YEA..THAT WOULD WORK GOOD..IF YOU DONT WANT AN IN-DASH..SHOULD BE RATHER SIMPLE TO INSTALL ALSO

yup......

yeah, that will work - The good part about this screen VS others is that the monitor folds down towards the windsheild, this will keep it out of your fac the only thing I dont care for is the color, but it is the same one I have, just mounted diffrent ......... good quality screen....
hey MP3-TV, still thinking about ordering and taking apart for your yellow color idea?
