As you all know, ive been selling all the stuff i got. Well, i was sitting at my house, like i have been for the past 2 months, an said #$@ it, an installed my Turbo XS FMIC, Cobb sri, and forge dv. Well, it took all #$@! day cause 1 leg doesnt do the same job as too, but the install, was pretty straight forward, the hardest part was takin the front bumper off. OK< NO TO MY PROBLEM. PS I DONT HAVE A BOOST GAUGE! I NO, anyone want to sell me one? lol

Everything was put on tight, I MEAN TIGHT, ive read the boost tubes blow off, well go couldnt even take these off. After i put everything on, Forge dv with blue spring, cobb sri, and txs fmic, and ngk 1 step colder plugs, coil pack mod, stretch spring. I started it, fired right up...but had a cel, so i turned it off, took off the positive on the battery, waited about min, then put it back on, then fired it up again, small pop this time when started, but no cel. Sooo, my dad was nice enough to take me around the block to see how she runs, well we sat there for about 5 min, i figure for the ecu to adjust, and back up, and go.. well my dad, being a dad took it real easy, like i said, then when there was alittle straight, i told him to give it alittle love :), in 2nd gear i did about 3/4 throttle, and it ripped! , the right at about 4500, SNAP! KRAcKLE, POP! , then just died. Now , i have read plenty to figure, that it prolly , or hopefully just hit boost cut. it wouldnt even start though for like 5 min after, so were waiting, an looking, and at first i thought, the fuggin piping blew off, but what i can tell, an see, all the plumbing is still SUPER tight, and good. the car started up again, BUT THE WAS NO CEL? WTF but it ran like a rat got stuck in the intake lol...i he had to keep his foot on the gas to keep it running...the weird thing is when we limped home, there was no cel?when he gave it gas, it sounded like the intake was super loud and booged really hard. i have a map clamp, an turbosmart bc, but there not installed...WHAT THE #!@!@$ is goin on here. I unplugged the battery again, an callin it a night, hope someone can help me out....sorry , but thats exactly how it happened didnt want to leave anything out. lol...

It sounds like you blew a coupler on your FMIC by the symptoms you're describing. The " Snap, crackle and pop" are not caused by a blown coupler on an FMIC. Did it actually make that noise? Or did it just pop?

Be ready to take off that bumper again.. Mine did the same thing at 12am after we finished putting my FMIC on.

hahah yea...my dad boosted it... in 2nd...then stumble , POP! ...died and it was 8pm lol...but it....wouldnt start..when it finally did, the it was like in limp mode or some ish when i drove it home, felt like misfiring, stumble, fall on face feeling, an it wouldnt idle...ive been reading...an if the couplers are all still tight, would fuel or boost cut do that? i disconnected the battery an sleeping on it, then in the mourning, ill troubleshoot. i have a map clamp, an bc, i might put those on, lol the only problem is NO BOOST GAUGE lol..so i might just toss the map clamp on...an hold off on messin with the boost controller until i get a gauge lol.......hope that fixes it.

did you install the plugs at the same time you did the FMIC?? Could it be possible that maybe one of the plugs is not all the way installed or bad or anything like that. Id go over everything that you installed... not just the FMIC.. the SRI.. the Plugs.. everything. I would definitely get a boost gauge before throwing that Boost Controller on. The pop could have been one of the couplers breaking (that may be unseen..IDK) or it could have been a backfire of some sort. Just trying to throw some ideas out there is all. Let us know what you come up with.

yea..the plugs were from pg, the colder ngks, i checked them, an did the coil spring mod, put them in tightend, then finished the fmic, yea...about to buya gauge lol....but i hope it was boost/fuel cut of some sort, not motor blown lol...

Before doing any mods like that, you should have at the minimum a monitoring device like a dashawk to see what's going on. Why play Russian Roulette with your motor? Those things aren't cheap.

This sounds a lot like what happened to me a few years back. I was working on the engine of my wife's car. Had it all back together and started it and it ran like crap. It turned out I had stuffed a rag into the intake when I was working on it so I wouldn't drop a nut down it, and forgot to pull it out. No damage, but it doesn't run well that way.

Your comment about the rat triggered this memory; thanks! (and think about if there may be something that got left inside one of the tubes)

It sound like you popped of a coupler. Try the one on the throttle body first. Mine came off and the car stalled. When it restarted I had zero boost and 9 afr's. If you had a boost gauge this would be easy to check. I also didn't see you saying anything about gapping the spark plugs? I hope you did that as well, but they will not cause this drivability issue.

most def. poped one of your pipes off. I had this happen to me exactl how you described it. but since the car even ran its prolly not all the way off

Hey just noticed your sig says MS CAI: Recalled? It's actually been canned in case you haven't read. :)

Lie. Not canned. Show the proof. 36,000 miles with the CAI, NO problems, just lot's more power than stock.

PROBLEM FIXED! one of the fitting came of...was the one that plugs up to the throttle body, lol..no wonder ..she runs purty now .....to bad im not driving it lol...fu@#$ng ankle...
