pillar paint

i saw in the modders guide that the titanium paint is a close match to our stock pillar... does anyone have a pic that used this exact paint to paint their pillar pod.. if you do that would be very helpful..

i went to napa auto parts and showed them my stock pillar and they mixed me a color that was so close to factory that you can't tell..i have the triple pillar pod painted factory grey,(very close to it) in the members list look up mjg and ask him what color that was..we both used it..he has a titanium and i have the yellow 2003.5. he painted mine and it even still has the texture feel without a smooth feel...hope that helps (mp3yellow

300 grit with some extra primer I had after painting some plastic. Just normal plastic primer.

Here is a pic of my pod. I used the paint from the buyers guide too. Its a damn good match and the paint is good quality stuff also.

Damn you used 300?? Thats kinda rough dont you think? I used 500 or 600...i cant remember.

I used the finest sand paper we had, stayed away from the rough stuff, wanted the same texture as the stock pillar, so I gave it a light sanding.

The lower the number the less rough it is...?

No the higher the number the less rough it is. IE 60 grit will take the paint off your bumper in one wipe. 600+ is really fine often used as like a wet sanding I think

err yea thats what i meant, thats why when he said he used 300 i was kinda shocked...

wet sanding grit is in the 1000's. ie 1000, 2000, 3000 etc. Really really fine stuff.

DON'T USE SANDPAPER..... If you use sand paper on your piller pod it won't look like its suposed to be there. It won't have any texture, plus the SEM paint is a plastic dye paint.
It will dry in minutes and make sure its clean... I painted Torque222's and it took me about 15 minutes..... Easy MJG
