Pics of the new rims!

.. Plus the fact that these wheels aren't 18" x 7" .. They're 18" x 7.5" .. That half inch can make a lot of difference when it comes to tire size and rubbing.

mine were 18x7.5 with 215/35/18 as well and believe me if i had had 40 series they would have hit the struts

they're wider but I'm sure the decrease in offset makes up for that as far as rubbing (on the inside at least)

I'll tell you right now. what is the stock tire size, and what is the one you're running rush?

stock tire size is 215/45-17 +50mm offset
these are 215/35-18 __mm offset?

yeah, the 40 series would been best and shouldn't have rub on the strut. and if you wanted to been safe, you could have run a 205/40-18 on there. that would have been .1% worse than the 215's but less likely to rub

edit: as long as offset is right the 215/40 would have been optimal

granted he has 215/40-17 listed as the stock size which isn't right for MSP or MP3

MP3 had 205/45-17s and MSP had 215/45-17s

.. Is anyone listening to me? I mean, at all?

The stock MSP tire size is a 205/45/17. That's because the stock MSP wheel is 17" x 7".

The wheels that I installed are 18" x 7.5". Thus, for us that can't READ, that means that the wheel is a half inch WIDER than the stock 17" wheel. That difference, as far as rubbing is concerned, is important -- ESPECIALLY if you want to drop your MSP.

Since I DO want to drop my MSP -- and NOT have any rubbing issues, that's why I ran a 215/35/18 tire size. Therefore, I can drop my car and NOT have rub.

.. Why is this so difficult to understand? Damn.

My stock MSP tire size is 215/45/17...Don't know what came on your car...

Nice rims choice!

stock msp rims are 215/45-17

you might be thinking of stock mp3 rims that are 205/45-17

yes the rim is .5" wider, but it's also probably lower offset (I'm guessing those aren't +50mm rims)

Back from the dead...

I was reading this for reference and...

just for everyone's info, I am running 18 X 7.5 rim, 45 Offset, 215/40/18 Nittos, and Espelir springs w/ no rubbing.

With +45 offset I'm surprised! You must weight 130 pounds, drive only in straight lines and never have passengers.

Nope. I'm 220lbs, and live in the mountains. The exact opposite pretty much.

I think it's just because I went with Espelirs really. They only drop 1.4, so that's only .75 off of the stock RB springs.

It looks like it's at stock height again!!!!
